It has only been a month since Nintendo’s beach-side compilation game Wii Sports Resort was released in the United States, but Nintendo has managed to sell over 1 million copies of the Wii MotionPlus-fest during that time. The game has also surpassed the 1 million mark in Japan and Europe, which, if I've done my math correctly, means over 3 million copies of the game have been sold so far. Not too shabby.
More impressive though is that there are now over 2 million Wii MotionPlus accessories in the wild just in the US. This clearly proves how successful the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 bundle and the individual sales of the Wiimote add-on were leading up to the release of Wii Sports Resort, which also comes bundled with the attachment.
How many of you Wii users acquired your MotionPlus’ via bundle vs. individual purchase?

One with the game, and an individual unit at the same time, I'm not much of a sports game fan so I'm not going to get the other games, besides that, I only have two wii-motes.

jmg1213,
Again, someone complains that Wiimotes should have had M+ from day one.....
2 reasons it was not:
1 - COST. While Nintendo had been looking at using a gyroscope-type motion sensor, adding it to the Wiimote in 2006 was cost-prohibitive.
2 - SIZE. In/around 2006, M+ would have ben too bulky to Nintendo's liking. Come 2009, thetech was smaller & cheaper to produce at the smaller size.
Adding M+ via a game pack in is the way to go. I bought TW10 & Resort w/ pack ins + a 3rd M+ add-on. Don't regret it for a second & look forward to more titles w/ M+ support. No need to wait for 1:1 3D tracking....it's already here!

the wii shouldve been released with the same precision that the motion plus gives it

I'm happy to hear Sports Resort is doing so well! It is a very fun game and I'm glad so many people are enjoying it. The MotionPlus peripheral also has huge potential, and the more people that own it the more likely developers will be to utilize it and explore its possibilities. Thanks Nintendo for creating yet another breakthrough in gaming

re: mangazo
I hope $60 dollar games and $300+ consoles at launch die instead. If you want expensive overpriced gaming go buy a high-end pc. console games should be for everyone and not just rich kids.

I got one with WSR and bought 3 M+ for $18 at Sams. The game is a blast to play.

dammit why won't the wii just die!!!!!!

This is what Nintendo should do with EVERY game: Market it. They marketed Wii Sports Resort and look how well it did. They wonder why mature titles aren't doing well. All they had to do was spend a tiny bit of effort marketing it and it would have sold just as well as this

I picked up Resort & 2 additional attachments. I'm not a golf person, so I'll wait to get the fourth, maybe with Red Steel 2.

I got the Tiger Woods 09 bundle and am very happy with that game. I think I haven't had this much fun with a golf game since Mario Golf on the GBC. Also got the Wii Sports Resort bundle, so 2 MotionPlus attachments are on me.
