Microsoft’s big surpise reveal at their GamesCom 2009 press briefing was Peter Molyneux introducing Fable III. Granted, getting to play Fable II in episodic chunks was also a big surprise, but it was the debut of Fable III that shook the city of Cologne. We got the exclusive opportunity to chat with Molyneux about Fable III and some of the elements that Lionhead are incorporating into the game including becoming the king of Albion, the concept of dynamic touch, what judgments are, and more. Now that you get to rule the kingdom, will the story of Fable end with Fable III? Molyneux dishes out the answers.
And since we could, we had to ask if Molyneux if he would ever consider getting involved with another Syndicate title or Populous. While EA holds the rights to these games, Molyneux apparently has heard there’s something cooking with them. Very interesting indeed.
Are you excited for Fable III? Are you going to download Fable II's episodes to try the game out? What would you like to see in a new Syndicate or Populous?

High hopes for Fable III. The second one is fun to play, but a bit dissappointing because a lot of people expected a bit more than it offered. It just didn't really have the feel of Fable I. If Fable III is going to be what the developers say, then it will be a blockbluster hit in the gaming world.

ii like how attfire says Fable 2 was disappointing and over hyped but then say its amazingly fun and spent too many hours playing it. what the F .what is wrong with you how can u be dissapointed and it be amazingly fun makes no sense isn't the whole point of a game to be fun.

Fable 3 going to be awesome just one thing bothered me bout fable 2 was how they said they would make much more deeper trying to woo someone they said you have to do a lot more than some expression to impress them i mean actually dates but it was the same thing as the first fable but it was still a amazing game and looks like fable 3 is going to be new game bringing someone newer and better to the series

Though I wasn't too fond with Fable 2, I still enjoy the game very much. It's fun, laughable, and down-right entertaining. Seeing that Fable 3 is coming NEXT YEAR :) I'm back to getting really pump for some more Fable. What got me going for this new game is the back story behind the third game, like being a king or queen in Albion: good or corrupt.

I like Pete. I've been playing Lionhead games since the Black and White. It's true he's a terrible exaggerator but at least he tries new things in his games, even if they don't always come out that great. Lionhead games at least try to do something different, even if they fail at excellence.

Ok I listen to maybe 45 secs of his bullcarp, Flaw 1. If your character in Fable 2 could own every building such as mine. How could there be a king running what belongs to me into the ground. I AM THE KING. But his idea of psychical interactions is very interesting. But you can just use the controller. He is worshiped for games that are ambitious but unfinished, he talks about depth but there is none once you can dig yourself out of your fanboy slop you can see games can be great and don't need defense. But when a game that was hyped and is released to high expectations. Things seem to go sour. Others will mock you for supporting a decent game not a pinnacle of digital entertainment and say its bad. When in fact it isn't bad its just what it is, fun. Now that I'm reading this it doesn't involve Fable or Peter or Milo. Its about people's need for instant gratification there need to know they have others they can look down to.....what ever just look at the Red vs Blue PSA about kind forum posts thats all I need to say.

looks pretty sick, i expect to pick this game up possibly the day it comes out :). and yeah marvin agreed, co-op sucked in fable 2, they need to make it so your character carries over, and it NEEDS a better camera angle. other than that great game :).

So I'm guessing the game will go from 3rd person acton rpg to RTS/3rd person action rpg.
It would be cool if the second part of the game is some RTS that uses Natal for controls (might work well), and that's how you manage your kingdom. There should also be wars between other lands or at least rebellions trying to take your kingdom down so there's something interesting to do. I hope the action rpg parts of the game use a normal controller.

Okay, it is great that fable 3 is coming and all, but Peter here is so far only talking this new touch system, also very little about the story line, and it's stuff very easy to guess. "Your action's will have sevre consequences, even the little ones." Oh, and your the child of the the hero from the second fable. However, he is not telling us about combat, dialogue system, and background, makes me think this fable is more talking then while playing.

I've got a bad feeling about Fable 3. I"m still a fan of the Fable series, and it's still the only game I actually paid for DLC, but being the King/Queen sounds like too much of a gimmick, and rather boring if you ask me. Unless Molyneux has got a few epic wars planned against neighboring countries (like Samarkand, where Garth went), I could personally care less about sitting on a throne and passing judgement on random civilians (who will all be guilty of High Treason against the crown and sentenced to death, of course). The Heroes were always warriors, and it's on the battlefield that I'd rather spend 60 bucks to be for the majority of the game. That's usually why a game ENDS when you become King.
On a side note, the Female hero in Fable 2 looks a bit like a drag queen, no matter what outfit she's wearing. Especially when your stats are maxed out. (and she's got eyes like a fish...)
And the dog had better still be in it.

I don't know can Fable III fix the mess that Fable II made for Lionhead Fable II was probably the most disappointing game I have ever played (and for some reason bought). The story line which is pretty much th only thing you can do while playing the game is short and by doing work and other tedious things to get money were, well, tedious. Though I'd have to say the combat was good while it lasted and the build of of the game to leave you with defeating the ultimate evil of the game without even the needing to pull out your weapons (just a damn music box!) This leaves us with the final boss being a giant crystal that wasn't even a a 'fun' fight. Also the replay ability is near to none, all the side mission are either easy or boring, I would sell the game but retailers will only take about 10% of it's original retail price. It is worth a rent but the game won't hold you over and is you buy it hopfully you found it for $20 because it's not worth the whole 60 I would know. (I'm not even going to talk about multi-player. -_-)

I can not wait for this game!!!

I wonder if he's talking about using the technology from "Project Natal" When he's talking about how you'll be able to reach out and touch everything in the world.
He already made that program called Milo to help Microsoft show off Natal's capabilities. So we know that his company is possably the most experienced or at least the best at using the technology in an immersive world sort of way.
I'm sure that other people already made this connection though.
