Fans of WWE Hall of Fame inductee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be interested to know that he is the exclusive bonus character for SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. Players that pre-order the game at GameStop or EB Games will receive a code that unlocks "The Texas Rattlesnake". As Austin would say, gimme a hell yeah!!!
In related news, THQ is using social networking services to promote the game. The company has Facebook and Twitter pages that will give SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 some modern marketing. While you're at it, you might as well follow me too and check out my preview of the game.
Will any of you be pre-ordering the game to get Austin? What do you think of game publishers using Facebook and Twitter to promote their titles?

I would fight the sun, hilk and chuck norris if it gave ma the ability to play as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin again.

Even if you hate the WWE, THQ has been making really fun games out of the thing for about a decade now. Basically it is a fighting game with oddball gimmicks,, but there is something satisfying about clocking a referee so you can smack someone in the face with a hammer. For what it is, it is quite good. Additionally, WWE is soap opera for guys.

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN this is the only resone im going to get this game cause the last two svr 08 and 09 where just trash and when i found out 09 dident have austin in it i was like nope no way in hell am i getting this crappy game
akosiya
i only finished road to wrestlemania on svr 09 and stopped playing it, didnt bother on the season mode cause i didnt like the system that much

well guess I have a reason to preorder SmackdownVS RAW 10..... damn you Gamestop! lol

No worries....the SVR codes are usually just to unlock someone quicker.....and even then the codes tend to find their way around fairly quick...unless they've changed the system they usually use....in which case...HORROR!!
I tend to get my copies at walmart which usually has one of those code sheets packed in anyway...
as for the question at hand....Publicity is publicity....given that social networking sites have a gaggle of peeps on them at any given time it only makes sense for them to make a page or an ad...even if no one is clicking it's another eyeball that's made aware of the product....that being said...what doesn't have a facebook nowadays? Sleeping in even has one....it's insane...

I can only get him if i Pre-Order at gamestop?? But I work at Blockbuster, so I wouldn't get my discount if I get it from game stop but then again I won't have Austin. Hmmm....this is a "stunning" problem...hehehe....sorry about that.
On a side note though I am glad to see stories playing a part in the game again. Last years season mode was really really basic. Anyone else not like the Abilities and how you had to gain them?

One of the most impressive features to me is the Story Designer and Stone Cold is a good bonus for the preorder.
