Sorry to burst your beta bubble folks, but it doesn’t look like you’ll be getting your hands on a multiplayer beta for id Software’s post-apocalyptic FPS/racing hybrid Rage anytime soon.
Now, although id CEO Todd Hollenshead told VG247 that an open beta for Rage is doubtful, he also said, “There could be something that’s more along the lines of a PC demo or maybe a Mac demo that comes out from a test perspective. But really, at this point, that’s speculation.”
Notice how that still leaves Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users Rage-less prior to the game’s release sometime next year. But, as Hollenshead points out, id is usually pretty good when it comes to demos, so if the game reaches a solid enough point, chances are a demo will follow shortly thereafter. Until then though, commence holding your breath in three…two…one…

I didn't even know this game had multiplayer. Is it just like deathmatches or race matches? Or is it like Borderlands co-op?
