I didn't expect to spend my Monday reading about Rise of the Triad, one of the goriest old school shooters around. Rise of the Triad was a ridiculously over the top shooter from the Duke Nukem 3D days that the newly reenergized Apogee Software is apparently rebooting, according to a Gamasutra interview with 3D Realms co-founder Scott Miller (3D Realms is actually still alive).
There are no other details on the new Rise of the Triad, only that it's supposedly being considered for a revival. Rise of the Triad was originally designed to be the sequel to Wolfenstein 3D but eventually became its own, hilariously violent game. Don't believe me? Check out the video above.

will they add "Scott's Mystical Head"? this was one of my favorites back then......."Here Catch!" So sad it was lost in the post Doom shuffle.......I want to play it again!

I forgot all about this game. I've been enjoying the old wolfenstein and duke nuke3d on the iphone, I hope someone ports this old classic to the iphone as well.
