I didn't expect to spend my Monday reading about Rise of the Triad, one of the goriest old school shooters around. Rise of the Triad was a ridiculously over the top shooter from the Duke Nukem 3D days that the newly reenergized Apogee Software is apparently rebooting, according to a Gamasutra interview with 3D Realms co-founder Scott Miller (3D Realms is actually still alive).
There are no other details on the new Rise of the Triad, only that it's supposedly being considered for a revival. Rise of the Triad was originally designed to be the sequel to Wolfenstein 3D but eventually became its own, hilariously violent game. Don't believe me? Check out the video above.
