The fourth Resident Evil movie (Resident Evil: Afterlife) has had its release date change. It's not a delay, though. The flick will hit a couple weeks earlier than had previously been announced. You'll be able to catch Afterlife in that proverbial theater near you on August 27, 2010, so put your waiting hat on and get in line now. What else do you have to do?
Milla Jovovich (who is, literally, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in real life) is back to play Alice, and Paul W.S. Anderson will once again helm, as he has in past RE flicks.
The first question gamers always want to know about game-to-movie flicks is "How close will it hew to the source material?" Here's Anderson on that topic:
"Once again we're doing it completely with the blessing of the videogame company. We got a lot of flack [on the sequels] for, 'Why isn't the movie set in the mansion just exactly like the very first videogame?..."The game is constantly [moving] and so is the movie franchise. We're doing it very much in conjunction with the developers of the videogame to give the audience something fresh but something that fits within the world of the videogame."
Fan question two: Will Jill Valentine return? That one is harder to answer. No one (but the people making the flick) knows, but many fans would really, really like Valentine to show up, but as of now, no one is saying one way or the other. Of course there's an online petition about the matter right here. Everyone knows online petitions always work.

When i heard the first movie wasn;t set at the mansion i thought it would be just another zombie movie, but two sequals later i'm more then hooked on the movie franchise. With RE5 not being the best Resident evil game around(at least when compared to Resident Evil 4) it's great to see a good resident evil, after Degeneration( which also rocked).I hope it's as good as the first 3.

Loved the first three movies. the fourth was great. loved them all. (although the first was not as good as the other 3, but it was still good.

Die Hard RE-Game fan! I didnt care for the first RE movie when i saw it at theaters, but after watching it for the 50th time on hbo while i played Everquest ..the movie grew on me and i came to like it and got sucked in to seeing the 2 movies that followed. Which were total CRAP!Some one should take the Director out back and pull an Office Space on him! Why can't they get the writers from the video games to pen a script. It only makes sense, but then again maybe thats the problem.I won't be seeing the latest installment ..no matter how HOT i think Milla is.

I only watched the previous 3 movies because of the RE title, the first was was ok but the latter 2 was not to my liking. I dont even remember the plot of them 2 haha.

The first movie was decent, the second one was way to cheesy and the third one was just ok. They need to focus more on putting some creepy and scary atmosphere in. As of now it's just over the top crap. Plus they really need to come up with some better zombie designs cuz i mean come on, look how rediculous Nemesis looked in the second one, and the Tyrant guy in the third one was also cheesy. Someone needs to make zombies scary again.

If they didn't have the Resident Evil moniker tied to them, this would be a series of decent movies. But, since it has Resident Evil on it, and I see how they have made these movies, I can't help but see them as b@astardizations of a great game universe. I made the mistake of seeing the first three, so I'm sure I'll make the mistake of seeing Afterlife, even though I know for certain it will leave me disappointed.

They are all terrible movies in every possible way but I have still seen all of them, thank god for movie channels.

one question! Who the heck watches these movies?! I mean, for real. I only saw the first one when it came out and I was disgusted by it and not from the zombies but the whole karate and action.
scottalott
Why don't they make a Resident Evil movie that actually has something to do with the games? You wouldn't make a comic book movie that only has a few similarities to the original material. Why would you make a video game based movie that does?

Whhhh-hhhh-hhhh-hhh-yyy!?
There's no way I could see this movie after they pulled crap like making Nemesis a good guy and killing Carlos.

Man i want to see Chris Redfeild in the new movie.

These resident evil movies suck!
shouldve based them off the games and had christofer nolan direct. but then again, using all that time making resident evil movies, we wouldnt have had The Dark Knight which is far better than all the resident evil movies combined.

Hay, August 27th, that's my birthday.
On topic though, I never saw the third movie, did Jill Valentine show up in that one?
cmdluke
How about we see Leon in the next movie. Or maybe Sheva to keep the movie a bit more currently tied to the game world.
