For the first time ever, BioWare is letting people play Star Wars: The Old Republic. Andrew Pfister was one of the lucky writers out at GamesCom 2009, where BioWare walked away from the keyboard and mouse and let him try out Star Wars: The Old Republic for himself. Andrew got a chance to play as a level 8 Sith Warrior, one of the newly revealed classes.
"My MMO background: on-again, off-again, really off-again, on-again and finally off-again World of WarCraft player. Never a raider or serious PvP player, but enjoyed questing solo and picking up bits of lore here and there. Going hands-on with Star Wars: The Old Republic was one of my most-anticipated appointments at GamesCom, and I am pleased to report that I was not let down. "

oh and im really curious if theyre going with the same combat system. i gotta say i hope they do. it feels more cinematic.

im one of those people who would have preferred a kotor 3, but bioware has yet to disappoint me so im optimistic.

I have high hopes for this game. When I heard the rumors that it was a possibility for release I immediatly ran to my gaming cabinet and jumped back into KOTOR I and II. I never got the chance to try out galxies and probably never will. Bioware has always deliverd its promises to their fans.

This game looks absolutely awesome and I'm going to end up playing it, but I can't help but still wanting a Kotor 3 from Bioware as well. I understand they said this is kotor 3 4 5 6 7 etc but still, the franchise was so good and so promising and ended on a cliff hanger and a down point. Even if it's not until after this game, I'd like to see one more to close up the series on a high note. But this game still looks awesome

I hope the game doesn't look like this picture. The graphics are sega dreamcast quality and the character design are extremely lame.

If this wasn't an MMO, I'd be ALL over it. I would rather have seen a proper KOTOR 3, but this may end up being as close as I can get, and that will keep my interest for now.

Dude! It's a Star Wars game. Im not garuteeing it'll be good but there is NO WAY it'll be as bad, or make as little money, as Lair.
I REALLY need this game to come out for Xbox live. I'll take a ps3 version if thats all I can get but this kind of game would utilize the party system beautifully and have people achievement whoring for months on end. :)

There is so much expected of this game, I hope it's not another Lair. Remember Lair, G4 and many sources hyped the hell out of it and it bombed. I don't want that to happen to SW: Old Republic, it holds so much promise.
