Now that the much rumored PS3 slim has been officially revealed, along with an all around price drop, people are wondering how this new console model will effect Sony's bottom line as well as the gaming industry. Such is the topic of this week's Soapbox. Adam takes some time out of his day to speculate about how he thinks the public will react to this new, seemingly more accessible machine and if it will bring Sony's sales numbers up to the level of the Xbox 360 or possibly even the Wii. Bought my PS3 last June when it was still $399 for the 80GB model, so when I heard about the price cut I was slightly pissed off. Although paying $100 less would have been nice, I'm still VERY happy I bought a PS3, so far it has been a MUCH MUCH MUCH better experience than the 360. So any of you who like to cry "fanboy" I've owned both systems and in MY OPINION the 360 is a piece of crap when compared to my PS3. Also I go by Quality OVER Quantity, something more people should go by, because what would YOU rather have? A system that cost more, but RARELY needs to be sent in due to faulty hardware? OR a system that cost less that is infamous for faulty hardware and software problems? But I digress, so far PS3 has treated me better, so I won't care how much the next Playstation costs, I'll own their next system before I own Microsoft's.

Looks like I made a good choice when I chose PS3 over Xbox 360 a year ago. Good Job Sony and i can;t wait for firmware 3.00

I have all 3 systems and for about 2 years I only played the 360 and a little wii didn't touch the ps3 except for metal gear solid but now there are lots of good games for the ps3 it gets a lot more playtime not even close to the 360 but a lot more than the wii
But I mean the 360 is superior in every way but at least now there might be people online because even killzone is lacking in players which will be nice and of course RaC crack in time I spent 100 hours playing the first future because of all the unlockables and all the upgrades so I'm so pumped for a new ratchet game

I own a PS3 and I'm glad to see this happening. I unfortunately feel bad because I got a PS3 2 months ago at $400.....and it was only 80 GB........crap.
Anyway, the Wii will be in the dust soon. Why get an underpowered system with a bad game selection when you can get a beautiful HD system for $50 more?!
And I USED to love Nintendo back in the days of the Game Cube.

did he just say its the end of december??? anyways good job with that wii very funny. but yeah good points i might actually consider buying a PS3 Slim in the near future!? And the Beatles are actually doing good these days cause kids are trying to find something new and original to listen to in there age group. But for the most part kids need to stop b1tchn cause theres like a million rockbands and guitar heros, so you kids need to stop being lil spoiled brats and b1tchn just because one out pf the million music simulator games are of Beatles.

lets just hope the economy goes up soon. im among the 10 percent unable to get a job even after several dozen applications/resumes this summer, but if i can land a job for college than god willing i can finally get a ps3 and get my hands on killzone 2.

I love how Adam and Morgan openly show they don't care for the Wii anymore and that it is a fail. Maybe if they didn't put out the same game with different skins, Ex: (Wii Golf and Tiger Woods), then It'd be good. Nintendo exclusives will only get them so far. Although they outsell the others, I hate to see those 100 million owners get bored after a year. PS3 looks very promising this year and the next, as well as those amazing games already out. I love my 360 but am looking forward to finally owning a PS3 soon.

I THINK ILL FINALLY BY A PS3. THE PS3 SLIM WORTH THE PRICE THE MAIN REASON I WANT TO GET ONE IS FOR THE BLU-RAY AND GOD OF WAR 3.BUT I LOVE MY 360 ELITE AND WITH GREAT GAME COMING OUT CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 2, MASS EFFECT 2, FABLE 3 I THINK ILL JUST STAY WITH XBOX. O YA ALMOST FORGOT THERES HAS TO BE A GEARS OF WAR 3 SOMETIME IN THE FURTURE.
