Capcom is one of those rare companies that has managed to create great games over a long period of time: Over the last 30 years(!) Capcom was responsible for shaping the industry and art form we know and love, but hasn't fallen off: From Mega Man to Resident Evil, Capcom's overall output has been stunning.
If you'd like to look at the company from a broader, historical perspective, you'll need to download the Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded for the PSP and the PS3. The UMD games are (obviously) for the PSP, and the "PlayStation Legacy" games are for PS3. Check out the list:
- Mega Man Powered Up (UMD Legacy)
- Dino Crisis (PlayStation Legacy)
- Powerstone Collection (UMD Legacy)
- Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (UMD Legacy)
- Resident Evil 2 (PlayStation Legacy)
- Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (UMD Legacy)
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (UMD Legacy)
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PlayStation Legacy)
- Capcom Puzzle World (UMD Legacy)
Resident Evil 2, Dino Crisis and Capcom Puzzle World are my personal trio of must-haves from this list.... oh, and Resident Evil 3. That game was awesome too. And I will download these games, too. But I might not play them too much. I don't know about you, but I'll often download games that I feel nostalgic about, then play them for a bit, and realize that sometimes nostalgia should stay in the past. What was once state-of-the-art is now kind of meh, and sometimes you can't re-capture the magic of older games. Know what I mean?

*shrug* I've played current gen games and I still go back and play the old games and enjoy them just as much as I did the first time around. Matter of fact I just finished playing through Medal of Honor Underground, had a blast remembering when the MoH series was top dog in the FPS on PS1 back in the day. My brother on the other hand can't stand playing any of his old stuff anymore since he got a 360, different strokes etc.

It probably means that the games were on the PS1 and the UMD Legacy....oh. I feel kinda stupid too. :)

I wonder if there will ever be a day they release Megaman Legends 1 and 2 on PSN?

Bummer it's not coming out for the 360. I might have to plug in my ps3 for once and buy a few of these.

I'd be all for a remake of Resident evil 2 like how they did the first resident evil. It's true about going back and playing old games though. A few of the virtual console games I have on Wii I never play.

What I don't understand guys is that you've bought these games once so why buy them again?

@Stephen Johnson
I know exactly what you mean about the old tech games. I have a backwards compatible PS3 and thought that I would be playing my PS2 games on it but after playing the next gen PS3 games I couldn't spend too much time on PS2 games. Now I can't play any PS2 games now that I'm used to Uncharted, MGS4, and Killzone 2 quality, and for that reason I don't buy the PS1 and PS2 classics on PSN.
