Dragon Quest IX Sells Over 2.3 Million Units In Just Two DaysSquare Enix’s Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Sky for the Nintendo DS has been tearing up the sales charts in Japan for the past several weeks, selling around 3.5 million units. During that time, fans of the massively popular RPG series who reside outside of Japan have been asking one question and one question only: When will we be able to get our styluses on the game?!

Well, according to SiliconEra, not bloody soon. Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada says his company is currently “considering” releasing the game overseas, but even if that were to happen, it wouldn’t be until after April 2010. I know that’s probably not what you Dragon Quest fans wanted to hear first thing on a Monday, but there you have it.

I’m currently waiting to hear back from Square Enix, so I’ll let you know what I find out.In the meantime, has this news caused anyone out there to cry even more than they usually do on a Monday morning?
