@inhuman marine - More likely it's for the 'cute lady bartenders' to spend that tip on...although I didn't see much that was cute in the preview pics besides the Roxy outift.
Really I think it'll just give people something to do with their left over microsoft points when they buy something and have like 40 points just sitting on their account staring at them. It drives me crazy to have random points and not be able to spend them.

It's one thing to buy themes and gamer pics but avatar clothing? I'm sorry but this is the ultimate way to show that you are a loser. That's money to buy me a drink and tip the cute lady bartenders, or a Jumbo Jack. I'm not against dressing up or customizing your avatar, it's just that you shouldn't have to pay for these things that should be free. PLEASE PEOPLE DON'T BE DUMB AND GIVE IN TO THIS. I don't see what the big problem is with the avatar shop, its all dirt cheap and pretty awesome.
The props are pointless, but the clothes are at least cool. Its something to do with that bit of leftover points you always end up having. I'll grab a TokiDoki shirt with the current 100p that I've had sitting on my account.

This micro transaction abuse from companies like microsoft is just ridculous.Now their charging people for avatar clothing when in reality they have more than enough advertising online to pay for the clothing and offer it free to their customers.I only wish they would offer me the option of wanting to go back to the game blades and let me drop my avatar completely.

First off, some clothing will be free..through achievement rewards. Second, stfu if you like or dislike avatars. Its not like you play avatar games All day now is it. If you don't like them, who cares your playing a video game and you never see them. Now if you are playing 1v100 and want to be a box or something gay because you hate avatars, well take that up with Microsoft.

The only thing I'm looking forward to with avatars is the COG armor and the possible ODST armor. I've been playing around with the new Xbox Live update and thought that the new clothes and stuff were nice but not worth the money, or rather the points. I hate the points system anyhow. Unless we get this stuff for free, I'm not buying. It's like 240 points to buy a R/C Warthog for my avatar. Talk about stupid.

I don't care about avatars I only use it once and I would only buy the COG armour suit or an ODST suit (PLEASE) and that's it I strongly disagree with the payment. I want to spend my money of DLC, map packs, and other cool things like that.

Would love to say I'm not going to buy any of this, but the sad truth is that I already have during the update preview beta.
My problem is not that MS is charging for this, but that I keep my account stocked with more MS points than you can shake a stick at. This of course leads to frivolous purchases like avatar clothes and premium themes.
