Xbox 360 Games On Demand

Xbox 360 users are just a few days away from the latest New Xbox Experience update. One of the new features included in the update gives users the chance to purchase and download games without having to first buy Microsoft points (most of the time, buying more than you need). Instead, you can simply buy the game with your credit card, and be done with it.

Today, Microsoft revealed the first batch of titles that will available through the new service when the update is released on August 11. Here’s the list:

Microsoft has yet to reveal any pricing information, however the games are expected to sell for somewhere around their retail counterparts.

Am I wrong in assuming that most people are more comfortable downloading digital-only copies of old games as opposed to new games? Why is that? Are there any games on this list that you plan on downloading simply because you can?

Can you unlock achievements for the xbox 360 titles, also this Games on demand update is interesting. I would like to see newer titles, because all the launch titles I have played before, but certain games I will play just to be nostalgic.

I wish Shadowrun was on that list, but Mass Effect will most likely be a buy for me, along with Rainbow 1 again, I'm thinking

Xbox would make so much money if they managed to get call of duty: modern warfare on there.

Good thing I just upgraded my hard drive. Search ebay for seller usafa777. He has a kit for 120 GB drives. It was an easy switch. There are some good games on the list, but they better be really cheap or else smart people will just hit Gamestop or Ebay. I also hope with these downloads you could just take your hard drive to a friends house and play them. I'm sure they will have some kind of stupid piracy limitation.

I think this a great list of games!! There are still a lot of titles in first generation catalog, that I never had a chance to play, due to all the other great games in their roster!! This is a chance for me to go back and give them a try!! This seems like a list mostly of their Platnium hits collection!! I mean Prefect Dark was released during the launch of the 360!! So I'm sure they'll have more titles on a regular basis!!

hard copies will always be my choice, but for older games i'll DL if the price is right, but something can always happen to a hard drive, and if a hard drive is fried, your games/music/movies are lost, at least with a hard copy, as long as you take care of it, its not gonna go away with a possibility of never coming back without re-paying for it

hard copy all the way I like getting box art and maps and stuff that comes with a game, but I guess this is like a replacement if your disk scratches

theres no way im spending money for a digital download when i can buy it from ebay or the store and have the physical copy on hand in case anything happens, harddrive takes a header or i get robbed or even i run out of room on my system, i've got the disc ready for loading anytime anywhere..besides, i prefer to be able to put my hands on a physical copy of a game. There are so many ways downloading full versions of anything only is such a bad idea

Is there a way to transfer the data from one hard drive to another? And would it be worth it to have extra 360 HDDs? These are questions that need to be addressed.

The appeal of a digital copy of game whether it be new or old is that it is always accessible. Its true that you can get them used at Gamestop cheaper but you take a gamble on the disc not working right and it just takes up more physical space. Also it doesn't apply to popular titles, Call of Duty 4 is still like $35-40 used. They wouldn't have this feature if the Xbox originals wasn't successful so that means many people find it convenient but they have to do something about the price of the 120 GB HDD. I got a 250 GB external HDD for my computer for cheaper.
