Ubisoft has revealed details on its upcoming super deluxe Assassin's Creed II Limited Edition: Master Assassin's Edition, which will be available exclusively at U.S. GameStops on November 11 for $79.99.
In addition to the game, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 packages will include an 8.5’’ Ezio collectable statue, “The Art of Assassin’s Creed II” hard-cover book, a bonus disc with behind-the-scene footage and the game's soundtrack, as well as a collectable tin.
But easily the most intriguing aspect of the edition is the inclusion of two “exclusive in-game maps,” Palazzo Medici (pre-order unlockable) and Santa Maria Dei Frari (limited edition exclusive). Obviously, when “in-game maps” are mentioned, your first inclination is to think about multiplayer. However, Ubisoft has consistently said that there will be no multiplayer in ACII. So what are gamers to think?
Well, I just heard back from a Ubisoft PR representative who said, “ACII is single-player. More details on how the exclusive maps work will be revealed at gamescom.”
Clearly, Ubisoft has something very interesting up its dagger-hiding sleeves. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what the big secret is, as gamescom starts August 19. Until then, let the speculation commence!

I dont get it the game was supposed to come out november 17th but it say up there the 11th did they change the date for it or was it a mistake.

Check out some demos or AC2 they've been showing. The combat is much much better. I will perolly pick this version because of the Ezio action figure. He can go right next to Big Daddy, The Master Chief Helmet, Crimson Viper, Alex Mercer, the Chimera, and Vault Boy :)

since the 1st AC was such a let down. I suggest buy the Collectors Edition. Don't open it!!! Read & Watch reviews and pay attention to the part where they talk about the Combat!!! Then maybe i will open it or return it or better yet Rent it!!!!!

I'm going to try to get this. I would love to get the Black Edition, but from shipping costs and region locking things I've been hearing, it might be too much for my wallet to handle. I like the fact that it comes with a figurine, but what makes even more cool is that it comes with the art book, soundtrack, and behind the scenes development. With a game whose story is as complex as Assassin's Creed, I'm interested in how they came up with things or developed certain areas of the game. The art is always a bonus and the soundtrack by Jesper Kyd is pretty awesome.

i'm definitely getting this. i'm a huge AC fan and i gotta get this. does anyone know if there's much of a difference between this and the uk version? i like the figurine and i really like the case. people can complain about paying for the in game bonus maps, but you either pay and get it or you don't pay and don't get it

Man, I just pre-ordered the game today, the person asked if I wanted the limited edition, but did not know what was included, so I didn't order it. Now I have to go back.

I think it will be a rip-off of the challenge maps in Batman: Arkham Asylum. But still cool.

Man, this pisses me off! The whole Master Assassin title is VERY misleading. That statue is the very basic Ezio. If you're going to preorder the collectors edition and actually care about it then go get the UK's Black Edition. The Black Edition is the TRUE Master Assassin Ezio. He wears black and his clothing is different than this.

exrta maps!?! it sounds like they are holding part of the game for ransom to me. i could care less about all the statues and art books because thats just more stuff that wont fit on my shelf, but making me pay for content that should be included is wrong! (im looking at you too wolverine game)!

Did any of you guys realize that in the box it has the playstation network symbol?? most of single-player games don't have it, so there MIGHT be multiplayer, or at least some leaderboard of some kind, who knows???
