Valve hasn't forgotten about you, Left 4 Dead players. The studio just announced a new campaign, titled Crash Course, which will be released as a downloadable expansion inSeptember. PC gamers can download Crash Course for free, but it will cost Xbox 360 gamers 560 Microsoft Points (in real world money -- $7).
Crash Course doesn't continue where the last campaign left off, but is wedged in-between No Mercy and Death Toll. The new campaign will answer some questions and includes "new locations, new dialogue from the original cast, and an explosive finale." Though Crash Course includes Survival and co-op maps, that's not the main goal, says Valve.
I'll let Valve explain:
"The primary goal of 'Crash' is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns. A recharge timer for infected teammates has also been added, and item spawn behavior has changed for more balanced gameplay."
I've asked Valve to clarify the pay-to-play situation on Xbox 360, but let's try to forget that point for the time being. What do you think of Crash Course?
Oh, and do you want to see a really big version of that poster?

God! I hate when Valve says, we're going to release a very good game that you have to use Steam for. Steam is balls. I'm concerned when he says releasing the full experience in 30 minutes because I kind of enjoyed the extended gameplay. I wont complain about the DLC being free though. I bet the Microsoft Points v Free has something to do with the DLC being distributed to a "third-party" (Microsoft) digital store rather than a Steam for XBox.

Value definitely tries their hardest when trying to release free stuff. I mean look at the price of this campaign. Usually stuff like this is 800. If Value can't get it to you free they will damn try to get it reduced haha.

560 MS Points isn't bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase it, but if I have spare MS Points from a card, I'll buy it.

Lucky that I have it for the PC. Valve doesn't release X360 stuff for free because the are probably trying to get the people that are petitioning l4d2 to NOT hate them any more, Who knows?

Is this their way of getting people to stop complaining about the fact of another whole game being released barely a year after the first? lulz!

I side with Valve, because they're AWESOME. Their very first game was Half-Life, and we all know how amazing that ended up being (assuming you're not completely stupid). Then, we got Counter-Strike. They have never screwed up, with the possible exception of Ricochet, but that wasn't too bad.
I'll admit my blind fanaticism of Valve, but when you consider I'm only a blind fanatic of them, Team Shanghai Alice, and Id, that should say something.
Also, shut up with the flame wars. I'll start singing Billy Joel if you don't shut up.

Why do you guys always vote down people who don't want to pay for extra content? Where do you get your money from? I could buy food for at least a week with $60, if I instead put that money towards a game I shouldn't have to pay more once every two or three months so I can keep playing it on the non-complimentary online service. Try not buying games with your allowance for a change.
Also, as stated before a bunch of times, I'm sure valve would love to hook people up with free updates, but MS controls release dates and prices pretty hardcore.

Its great that L4D is finally getting some DLC, like what Valve said when the game first released. Maybe now that stupid internet petition will stop, too.

i like the way we the xbox 360 owner has to pay for things pc owners don't. i can understand n don't mind paying for dlc but atleast give me more than just 30 mins of play. give me atleast an hour n make $5 bucks and we'll talk. plus with l4d2 coming in November its no point in buy the dlc.

looks a little bit "War of the worlds"-esque from the background things in the poster
