Online Petition To Bring Alan Wake To PC Promoted By Remedy Community Site

For Xbox 360 users, the wait for Remedy’s psychological thriller Alan Wake has become laughable. It’s turned into one of the biggest running jokes in modern gaming. Yet, at some point next year, the waiting will be over, and the game will finally be released (As always, I’ll believe it when it’s in my disc tray). That is of course unless you want to play the game on PC, in which case you’ll want to settle into your waitin’ chair for the foreseeable future.

However, in classic Internet-based-rage fashion, the editors of an Alan Wake fansite in Germany (Alan-wake.de) started an online petition, urging Microsoft to release a PC version of the game, as originally planned, either simultaneously with the 360 version or shortly thereafter. Here’s the main thrust of the whole thing:

“We, your most loyal fans of Alan Wake and Remedy, don't want Microsoft Game Studios history to repeat. Halo 1 was originally announced as a PC title, went to being an Xbox exclusive and finally came out more than a year later on PC. Not only did it far worse with critics because of a bad port, very few actually even cared about it anymore. Alan Wake deserves to have a different fate! It lies in your hands! Don't disappoint your customers around the world!”

Remedy’s community site has taken it upon itself to bring attention to the petition, by posting about it on its official Twitter feed (@remedyalerts). Despite being an assuredly welcomed gesture, Remedy by its own admission has no say over the fate of a PC version of the game. That decision lies with Microsoft, and Microsoft has no plans to alter its current release schedule. If that upsets you, what are you going to do about it? Sign a petition! Ha! I'd like to see that.

On what platform would you prefer to play Alan Wake: Xbox 360 or PC?

Why was RRODisBack voted down so much?? The truth hurt? I want this game to prove me wrong.. but after so many years in development and a rather underwhelming showing at E3.. this game has ALOT to prove.

PC gaming will never completely die not because of its quality.. but because everyone already has one in their house anyways. The sad fact is that in the current PC market games like Alan Wake are not viable options and are usually not worth the extra time and money to make a PC version(EA Sports obviously stopped bothering altogether).

I remember in the early 90's when gamers looked to PC gaming to see the future trends.. now all they see is and old dog refusing to learn any new tricks. Sure MMO's, FPS's, and RTS's, will sell well occasionally.. but dont expect anything more than that(basically, if your not a fan of those genres.. your screwed). Bottomline.. you cant get angry at a company who doesn't want to waste money on often irrelevant version of their game.. especially in the current condition of the market.

PC Gaming is DEAD... D.E.A.D. I was a HUGE PC Gamer, and I have moved on, like most of the Gaming world has. The PC Gamers that are left are so stubborn they can not see that the entire industry has moved on. And whatever Developers that are still Developing for PC's are starting to take notice, and move on as well. Crytek anyone?

Piracy, rising costs, and a decreasing audience is why PC Gaming has been falling fast for over 4 years. And all PC Gamers do when someone states the truth, like I, is become Hostile and Defensive. I can understand if they have honor and want to go down with the ship, just don't deny it's sinking.

Why do gamers think Game Developers owe them something? For example Left 4 Dead 2. Online petitions arent going to get you what you want. Anyways this game doesnt really interest me at all. I dont even think I will rent it. I would rather borrow it from my friend since he is excited for it. I wont waste money on this game.

    @ RRODisback

The only thing that smells around here is the BS that constantly comes from you.

Personally I was disappointed with Alan Wake at E3 , so I'm not going to buy it, the story just looks terribly presented (my friends and I laughed at how stupid the narrations sounded), and it doesn't seem scary at all.

Petitions never work in the entertainment industry. It's the most useless right in the first amendment.
Alan Wake doesn t even look that good. The original scope has been dumbed down to a RE4 clone. Besides, what did you expect? It s Microsoft. They are the anti-Christ of PC.

Ugh.. PC. Is that a question? The only reason why I see that they would pull the game from the PC Market, is that the game is not as good as they thought and they do not feel like it will be financially in their best interest to make the game for XBox and PC. If the game was as good as they are marketing it to be, they would be confident enough in the quality of the game to release the game as planned.

    @phatdoggy440,
actually I prefer steam over xbox live. It's just as social plus it's free to use. honestly pc gaming is 10 times better since games are cheaper and they can do more graphically.

Oh well if microsoft wants to shoot themselves in the foot for not releasing it on all their platforms they can go ahead and do that.

dumbed down? PC games suck. I'm sorry, Xbox Live is way more social then PC will ever be, that's why I like it better.

my decision is pending on the reviews. if the reviews are good, i'll play it , after it's price drops to $30, for the 360. it's a couch game.

hopefully the pc, minus 360, players get what they want.

This game smells like Too Human to me. It's been in development longer than Killzone 2 but don't look half as good as Killzone 2. Looks like another Too Human failure to me.
