The slimmer profile PlayStation 3 that Sony hasn't announced yet made a surprise appearance over the weekend. Sometime on Friday, a listing for the device popped up on Amazon.com in Germany. The listed console had an Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN), but no picture (other than some fan art) and no release date, or any other tangible details.
Like a mirage in the desert, the listing has since disappeared -- the page is now listed as "Dokument Nicht Gefunden."
So, who wants to take bets on when the PlayStation 3 Slim will actually be announced? I'm guessing you'll be able to buy one by Christmas.

Are people high or what, PS3 slim cannot not come out, its possible, but until Sony confirms it you cant believe it, its just some kid play around on the internet and wants some attention....Plus i just bought a PS3 a Few months ago... I dont want to know another awesome and more superior system is coming out after i paid $399....YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!

it was a 4 year difference between sony releasing the PS2 and the PS2 slim.
and it was nearly a 5 year difference for the PSOne.
one can either surmise a "5-4-3" progression, or simply that the PS3 slim would be either 4 or 5 years into the products' lifespan.
personally, im not entirely interested in it. if it has better hardware than my launch 60gb, and is cheap enough, then maybe ill be interested.
as it stands, nothing released has come even close to my 60gb in terms of its capabilities. full b/c is a big portion of that. and i get the feeling the slim might not even play ps1 games, the rate b/c is going...

I honestly dont know why they havent just come on out of the closet with the details. Everybody knows it exists, especially since we know their "weightloss" habits with Playstation and PS2. I mean for God's sake we even have pictures of the thing already. At this point its just an elephant in the room and Sony is doing its best to cry pink ( "pink elephants" if you dont get it, just google it...). Im really just waiting for the price to be announced at this point cause if its cheap enough I might just pick one up. not entirely for the games since I got a 360 and can play pretty much anything the PS3 has to offer on it but particularly for a nice easy to update reliable Blue Ray Player. and yes I clearly wrote this at 5 am and have no idea what im rambling on about at this point.

despite sony not confirming it. i guess this ps3 slim is tied to all of their cheap new manufacturing parts for the ps3..it isn't going to the old model but the slim. i wonder if this is all just an urban legend/rumor though cause how can the ps3 not have a blu-ray drive.
besides the ps3 slim looks ugly compared to the sleek powerhouse behemoth.

the reason Sony doesn't want to admit the slim is real is because ps3's on shelves now will stop selling, potential customers will end up waiting for the slim and sony just isnt ready to launch them yet.
why would sony want people to stop buying $400 ps3's for three - four months

The amazon page said that there were 2 used copies of the product available and when you click it shows two dealers who were selling ps2 slims. even the description said THIS IS NOT THE PLAYSTATION 3 SLIM.. simple typo folks

what the hell is the big deal over this slim console? The only thing that I hope is that my fat one doesn't break because I don't want to replace it. Ya the current one is a good size but does that really make any difference? If you wanted one and could afford it wouldn't you have a PS3 by now?
If you ask me all the rumors without an announcement or system is just hurting PS3 sales. I guess you could argue that by keeping it a secret people will still buy the big ones but guess what sony? The cat is out of the bag

I was at a Gamestop store over the weekend, and I asked the guy behind the counter about it. When I asked, he didn't even hesitate or stop to think about the answer, and quickly said that it's coming out in October.
We shall see....

I'm not sure if there will be a PS3 slim by the end of the year. I'm sure if there is one coming soon, Sony would announce it at a major Sony press event. Anyway, I'm not sure if this is suppose to be a teaser or an error, but there has been rumors of a PS3 slim for a long time. I just like the version I have now.
