Updated: New Trailer!
I know it’s hard to believe Fallout 3 fans, but you’re quickly approaching the end…the end of Fallout 3 DLC and high prices! (End of high prices not a guarantee.) Bethesda Game Studios' upcoming spaced-out Mothership Zeta will be the final DLC released for the post-apocalyptic role-playing shooter (unless Bethesda goes back on their word). However, don’t think that the game’s developers are planning on home-phoning this one in so they can finally be done with the massive, massive undertaking that Fallout 3 has been. Far from it.
Bethesda dev Brian Chapin spoke with Polish gaming site Polygamia about the upcoming DLC, and revealed some interesting tidbits. For starters, because the chapter takes place entirely on the Mothership Zeta spacecraft, a high Science skill will be essential to your success, while skills like Speech and others will simply assist in your exploration of the ship. Nothing too shocking there, but still good to know.
Of course, with high-tech environs, comes high-tech, energized weaponry, including the Disintegrator and the Atomizer. Yet, as Chapin explains, “We do, however, have new weapons for several other categories, including Melee, Big Guns, and Explosives. And not everything you'll find on the ship comes from the aliens.”
Apparently, those damn, dirty aliens have been capturing lowly earthlings from all manner of time periods and locations (and experimenting on them in horrific ways), so expect to see quite a wide variety of enemy types as well, in addition to the primary alien population, which is divided into those looking for a fight and those who are simple workers, just looking to earn a living.
Also, the alien connection evidently goes a bit deeper than a simple captor/prisoner relationship. Chapin teased that the aliens, “may have some connections to other experiences you've had while playing Fallout 3...” (Tell me that I collected all of those Nuka-Cola Quantums just so these alien bastards could have cold beverages for their next intergalactic picnic!)
PlayStation 3 fans will be pleased to hear that DLC is expected to start rolling out for you in September, while Xbox 360 and PC users will be beaming up to Mothership Zeta on August 3rd for 800 Microsoft points.
Mothership Zeta looks rad. Anyone disagree? How are you coping with the fact that this will most likely be the last Fallout 3 DLC?

Aw... now i gotta get my energy weapons skill up.

I am currently on my third playthrough on the PS3. I am concentrating on getting 100's on all skills by level 20. It does suck that I not only have to wait until the end of September for the first dlc, but that I have to hear my friends that have it on the 360 talk about how awesome it is while I patiently wait for the PS3 versions. That being said, I don't mind waiting as long as I get to play them on the PS3. Seriously, this is one of the best games I have ever played. Here's hoping that Fallout 4 isn't too far away.

I'm not going to buy any more dlc since it's going to be released in the goty edition.

I just restarted my game on Fallout 3 recently on the PS3. Im looking forward to the DLC eventhough we get it a little later. Howvere I dont know if I should buy each individually or esentially rebuy the game in the flal as the GOTY edition. Anyway its nice seeing a dev support a game for this long. I cant wait for Fallout:New Vegas.

Alright this will be good, In a way I'm almost glad this is last, wait a sec, hear me out before you get all angry; After this, they can strictly work on Fallout 4, possibly making another appearance on the 360 (fingers crossed).
-patience is not my strongest virtue.

troopershades
fix the game before releasing anymore dlc, I still cant leave meagaton without my PC rebooting. Was working just fine until I tried to get the last DLC before the Mothership zeta. Thanks bethesda.
Nuclear_Xmas

Ok I own a ps3 and an xbox360 and I am killing myself because of how awesome this looks. The only reson I bout it on the ps3 was because of free online service. But I still have alot of stuff left to do in the CW but I NEED THIS!!!
Toxiczz
mmm im sorry but this should have been in the game and notto pay for it cuase that brokn space ship was in te game they just wanted to add it now or they just did

This is a "no-brainer" for me. The only question is which character will I use to play it: my "Good" character who is currently on his way to 29th level, my "Evil" character who is currently 20th level and hasn't been through any DLC yet, or my new 1st level character with whom I'm trying to maintain a "Neutral" alignment.
Love this game. Playing "Oblivion" again to get my RPG on and waiting for Dragon Age in the meantime.

Fallout 3 and all of its DLC was the reason I became a XBOX live Gold member. This game is AWESOME!!!! Cannot wait until August 3rd.
guillermind
THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!.. Just fly me to the moon, let me kick some alien ass.
K_BIT
Well, considering the Game of the Year edition will have all five expansion packs available on the disc, I can't say I'm surprised.

Ooooooooooh!
Was that a cattle prod zapping away there?
implodinggoat
I've been loving the Fallout 3 DLC; but considering that Obsidian is working on Fallout: New Vegas and Bethesda is almost certainly working on Fallout 4, I think I'll live.
RyannWeller
I will note though I wish they would raise the level bar again if this is to be the very last DLC!
ratent
I'm not sure how they're going to market this. It doesn't really have any selling points other than new energy weapons and chuckle-worthy mini-stories. The other DLCs all had some sort of selling point.
OA- the first DLC, stealth armor
Pitt- items you can take back to CW, moral decisions, weapons
BS- lvl 30, tesla cannon
PL- expansive map, fun interactions, weapons
MZ- weapons
