There can never be enough quality platformers. Between Trine and 'Splosion Man, there are some seriously fantastic platformers coming down the pipe these days, which is why I'm crossing my fingers the newly announced Topatoi is a solid addition to the lineup. Topatoi is a downloadable platformer coming to the PlayStation Network "this fall."
Unlike Trine and 'Splosion Man, however, Topatoi is a fully 3D platformer, albeit one that seems to stick to a mostly 2D pathing. Like Trine, Topatoi appears to feature combat but keep the focus on the physics-based puzzles. An excellent combination, my friends.
Topatoi is coming to North America later this year (no word on an exact release date or price point just yet), but the game was actually already released on the European service, so maybe a reader can chime in on how the game plays.

its good to see 3D platforming is still alive and kicking.
most platforming has been sucked out of a lot of AAA games in recent history. if you look at RaC1, compared to 3, of even RaC Future, it started out with a lot of platforming, and moved to a more action oriented style of gameplay. a lot of games have followed suit.
great platforming needs great level design. if it takes PSN to release games like MM9, then im all for it. however, im happier to see that new IPs and creative experiences like the Pixel Junk games, Fat Princess and the like are all being released, as opposed to simply making PSN a "retro" playground.
rehashes and retro games are great for a couple of days or so. but id much rather have new and fresh games like this, than i would re-releases and rehashes.

Finally something interesting. Finally something that is not a FPS starring a giant idiot with a soul patch and one-liners. Who let creativeness into video games!!?? Watch out.

I bought Fat Princess last night and it is awesome. I only played it for about 30 minutes but I can already say it is one of the best downloadable games. Highly Recommended!

We're getting Castle Crashers and Braid on PSN too. I'll buy them both to see what all of the fuss was about.

thizzianabob wierdo but funnie in a wierd way. Sony sure know what they are doing. Xbox finally gets youtube,netflix,facebook and you xbox jump for joy. But before that didn you guys say you only need xbox to do one thing and that is to play games? Eat your own words. Too bad they didn't give you a webbrowser instead. I'm Looking forward to it. Sony is rolling all the good stuff,MGS,LBP,Motorstorm,Infam ous,Resistance,KZ2,Uncharted preety soon MAG,Ratchet2,Uncharted2,God of War.... Have fun playing Halo ODST.
