Ah Comic Con, the single greatest and most horrifying nerd event of the year. Never have I seen such marvelous nerd spectacle existing in harmony with uncomfortably cramped conditions and high level marketing exhaustion.
Moving on. This week Casey is back in the studio with tons of MMO news from The Con. Did you know that Sam Raimi is directing the World of Warcraft movie? Or that Free Realms is about to reach 5 million users in its first 3 months? Or that The Matrix Online is shutting down? Yeah, I didn't know that game was still going either. Casey has never seen Army of Darkness or Evil Dead??????? Some one who has a job buy him the collectors editions of all 3 films and fix this crime against a great man.. Matrix Online will be greatly missed. The only true mmoRPG ever created. In other words, an MMO that was actually story-driven and encouraged roleplaying. Unlike every other so-called MMORPG. Which is why people only call them MMO's anymore. Even WoW isn't really a true role-playing game. Someone should coin a new, more accurate term...like Massively Multiplayer Online Combat Grind and PvPfest.....MMOCGP?
