The Wii gets no respect in the gaming world. Sure, Nintendo is basically printing money with the thing, but hardcore gamers have all but abandoned it, and now a developer with Telltale games (Tales of Monkey Island) has apparently compared the console unfavorably with the iPhone.
"Keep in mind that the Wii is just not a powerful console. An iPhone is much more powerful than a Wii, even," posted Yare, who is apparently an interface developer at TellTale, on the TellTale message board.
If Yare is a employee, he/she should know. Monkey Island is out as episodic content on the Wii. In response to general complaints about Monkey Island's frame-rates and audio, Yare posted:
"The voices and textures are the way they are because we're limited to 40 megs for WiiWare titles. The PC versions of our games are usually 150+ megs, and most modern games range anywhere from one to ten gigabytes or more. Talk to Nintendo about this one.”
If the Wii is underpowered, I don't think that's an excuse for putting out lousy games. It's not impossible to make good games with an underpowered machine. I still play Nethack, and that game came out in 1987! Any system contains limitations, and truly great game-makers work within those limitations to make the best possible product.
Still, "The Wii is less powerful than an iPhone." Ouch. That burns!

Who cares? Gameplay > graphics any time, no exceptions. Also, I rather pay $249 than $199 for iphone 3gs + $840 a year, no taxes or extra fees included.

what an idiot, the graphics on iphone games looks like a colorful turd, almost everything on the wii has better graphics then the iphone, processor wise, yes the iphone is more powerful, graphic wise? hell no, wii beats it. entertainment? wii. motion? wii. everything else? wii. The Wii is more powerful then the iphone will ever be.

Okay, I don't even think the full power of the Wii has even been displayed yet.
It may have more power than you think.
Most of the titles you see today are of Gamecube quality, it's the next generation, they'd have to had made some advancements to their new console.
For instance, Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 are all great examples of it's power. Even the new Metroid game looks GORGEOUS! I also have high hopes for the new Zelda title that's on its way!
Just wait nintendo fan boys, I think Nintendo will release some great games in the future, but for now, enjoy your Xbox 360.

Why are you guys saying Super Paper Mario is a good Wii game? It was crap compared to the ones on the Game Cube and N64.

The Wii is amazing. Resident Evil 4, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda: Twilight Princess, No More Heroes, Madworld, Tomb Raider Anniversary, House of the Dead, Bully, Okami, Call of Duty, Smash Bros, The Counduit, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Tomb Raider Underworld, Guitar Hero, and I can go on and on. Those are all great games. I'll admit, Nintendo doesn't exactly have a lot for us hardcore gamers, but the hardcore is coming! With games like Metroid Prime Trilogy, No More Heroes 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Dead Space Extraction, Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, Metroid Other M, and Sadness all coming out soon my Wii is gonna be more overloaded than ever. All we have to do is wait a little bit longer. Besides, our idea of hardcore is blood and guts and explosives. True hardcore games are games like Okami, or the upcoming Sadness. Those are games that bring new ideas to the table and absorb you with their story and gameplay.

i love my wii i dont care what nun of you say im still going to go out and buy wii games my wii is lke transportation to another world(well at least untill project natel) why do you think the wii has been selling so good people like it just not you the xbox now cost less then the wii and the wii has more sells (i wonder why).and i kno the exact reason the wii sells fell 40% EVERYONE HAS ONE DUH!!!!! now any questions e-mail me at mayberryjr@yahoo.com

if you checked the second page you would have realize I fixed it and added the other 2 games (as for saying paper mario twice I didn't realize it, so yes I did fix it but your probably too stupid to check the second page)
Also the godfather sucked if you played it on the 360 and ps3 (did best on the wii, check the xplay reviews if you don't believe me)
Also I have a 360 and never use it, if it didn't have a dvd player I would have fealt like I was ripped off.
Also the guy never said exculsives he just said 20 good wii games (so you fail)

What a load of crap.
The Wii is much more powerful than the iPhone. The iPhone's best graphics are barely any better than Nintendo 64.
Telltale is CHOOSING to limit themselves to 40 megs by making it a WiiWare game.
If they wanted to, they could put the game on a disc and have plenty of space, so the audio wouldn't be compressed.

The God Father-Absolutely terrible
Deadly Creatures-seriously?
Mertroid Prime- Not bad, aiming is kinda hit or miss
Paper Mario- Disgrace to the mario franchise

SSX Blur- Just another snow boarding game, but with bad controls
Excite trucks- nothing innovative, bad wiimote controls, very repetitive racing

Red Steel- it was ok, the controls were retched
Trauma center- why did you put it on your list, you can barely call it a game.
No More Heroes- really good
HOD:overkill- another rail shooter, might as well be playing carnival games and shoot the targets

Paper Mario- You couldn't find any other games so you decided to repeat yourself and hope no one noticed?
RE4- IDK if you know this but it was relased 2 years before the release on the wii
