PlayStation Home Fat Princess

Sony is rolling out some special new content for PlayStation Home, including a 10-screen movie theater, with the suggestion that full-length movies and TV shows are coming! Here's how the official PlayStation blog describes the new movie-house:

"The Movie Theater brings you ten times as much exciting content [including from the PS.Blog! -Jeff] with a brand-new 10-screen layout, a new lobby, and the ability to unlock rewards in select screening rooms. Be sure to check out the screening rooms often – you never know when one of them will be giving something away. Stay tuned for lots of exclusive new videos over the coming months, including the future possibility of full-length TV shows or movies, with new features debuting on a regular basis."

What do you think? Would you watch a movie in Home? If not, why not?

That's not all that's new, however: Sony is also rolling out a new Burn, Zombie, Burn space with a cartoonish graveyard and crypt in which to hang and videos, as well as a zombie maze mini-game and "an exclusive reward."

Just-released downloadable game Fat Princess is getting some Home love too. You'll be able to take part in a Fat Princess cake-search game. You'll need to search Home high and low for clues that help unlock delicious cakes for the Princess. The prize is pretty choice: If you unlock all eight pieces of dessert, you'll be rewarded with your very own Fat Princess throne for your Home space. Nice!

There's some new Motorstorm content too, but that won't be coming right now -- it's on the way in the following weeks, so sit tight.

@fab186 I'm glad you have to download each area, saves on having to clutter up your drive with places you really don't want.

@ParanoiDave....LOL! Only funny because it's true.

I think that would be a great idea, these consoles are becoming more than just video game stations. The only problem with home is that you need to download all the areas before you go in them. A ten screen theater sounds like it might take a while and a good chunk of your harddrive. luckily i have a brand-new 160 gig :P

What, another area in which people can just come in to dance and HOPE someone comes up to them to ask them what they're doing?

You know is not that bad. The only reason i don't like it is because the controls are complicated....You can't even jump and you have to open the menu to do anything. They should be more flexible and it would actually be enjoyable.

I don't get it. What is this? Virtual socializing, for the socialy retarded. It would be cool if you could get virtual candy and popcorn? Really???? What the hell is wrong with you????? How about making some good exclusive games (PS3 has a long, long, long, long, long, way to go before catching up with 360), that's why I overpaid for the damm thing. G.A.M.E.S., morons that's why most (at least socialy well adjusted people) people overpaid for the PS3.GOD I LOVE MY XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wish da PS3 had a custom jukebox feature like the xbox, among other xbox features:

-see what ur friend is playin and have the option to join if available
-when playin multiplayer on a single console, the ability to login to both accounts so both players can get credit for whats righfully there's
-and a easy player profile that displays acheivments [instead of goin to home], games played and rankings, and a gallery of footage (screenshots, film) from memorable moments in games. I think the interface could be somethin like Myspace or Facebook, but in a gamers light.

To answer the question, i wouldn't mind watchin movies on home, but i think home should be more intigrated with gaming, instead of having to stop the game and go to home, which u can't access from pausing a game.

Home is not a waste of time. I been it since the beta and it's has grow ever since. I am happy they are finally updating the theater. It would be pretty cool if they played movies or TV shows. It be funny if you can get yourself popcorn and a soda. Can't wait for it to come out.

HOME doesn't clutter my dashboard, theme, wallpaper.

HOME nor its avatars, is forced upon a PS3 owner/user.

    HOME is FREE
