Activision Lawsuit Will Not Delay Brutal Legend's Release

Finally, news on a video game that isn't leaving 2009. Activision, Electronic Arts and Double Fine have been going back and forth over Brutal Legend since earlier this year, with Activision claiming Double Fine signed on the dotted line with EA before Activision had its final say. A subsequent lawsuit has cast a dark shadow over the game's release date since, but don't worry: a Los Angeles judge has ruled the case will not affect the game's release, reports the Associated Press.

Activision had filed a motion to delay Brutal Legend as the lawsuit was worked out, but Los Angeles superior court judge Craig Karlan has tentatively dismissed the request. Unless something major changes when arguments are presented to the judge in August, Brutal Legend will be released as planned, while the lawyers work out the fine print.

Can I get a hallelujah?
