Warren Spector is working on something, something Disney and Spector have been quiet about for a long time. The rumor, started by Gamasutra last year, was a project dubbed Epic Mickey. Described as a steampunk-style platformer starring the famous mouse, Epic Mickey has taken one step closer from rumor to reality, with some leaked concept art. A resume discovered by superannuation suggests it's coming to Wii. Whether Epic Mickey is a Wii exclusive, however, remains a mystery.

I kinda hope that it is a Wii exclusive only because i'm tired of everyone kissing the ground that sony and microsoft walk on and for the fact that all the super cool games are coming out for the 360 and the PS3 just for the graphics. The graphics on the Wii may not show every bead of sweat on someone's forhead but they're pretty damn good, good enough to make Epic Mickey look freaking amazing during gameplay that's for sure.
I'm super excited about this game though. I like how everyone's comparing it to Kingdom Hearts XD I'm hoping that they do play to the darker side of the Disney characters. It's just time for something other than the squeaky clean image that Disney's all about.

i see how awesome the concept art is, but does anyone know what KIND of game this will be? I mean, having a first person shooter with mickey mouse would be pretty sweet.
And... anything on the story? Is there going to be some kind of apocalyptic mayhem throughout disney kingdom? That just seems.... like THE BEST IDEA EVER!!!1
lol... they originally proposed that the keyblades for kingdom hearts should be chainsaws. Oh, how I love you, Squeenix.

wow. Wayne Allwine hasn't even been dead for longer than a year, and Disney is already changing Mickey's style. I don't know if I'm going to like this game, but I will say the concept art does look good.

Wii's Rule Monrowe! supposably this titles gameplay, use's the wii remote to point at the screen to paint the levels, remove certain objects, add objects, grab/letting go of objects. ect...(sigh) bs wii mini games.. Thats the Rumor

This looks absolutely incredible! I really started to hate Disney (with all the Miley/Hannah/JoBros crap everywhere.) Now, I feel as though Disney is finally realizing that they do have fans older than 10, and this is their way a paying tribute to them. This looks extremely gritty, which is awesome. I mean, tell me you didn't stare at Zombie Goofie for at least 10 seconds.
Also, I can't belive I'm saying this, but thank God I have a Wii. At least I know that this game will definitely be available to me. It'll be a few years, but it looks like it's worth the wait.

give me Kingdom Hearts 3 now, that's all i ask for. On the subject this looks pretty cool but i can't see the wii controls working with a platformer that's not mario

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that Disney's willing to go for a less disgustingly adorable game and give their beloved characters a more grisly look and feel, but I'm still not holding my breath. After all, we can't forget that this is simply concept art. There have been countless games with major potential that looked simply incredible in the artwork, but it's all in the execution- how well the game flows, how well the controls work, if the plot makes sense for the evioronment that it's attached to, and exactly how intuitive the game as a whole is- that defines just how great the game is going to be. So, I'm remaining pessimistically optimistic about this and reserving my judgement for when we can see some gameplay.

Just in case anybody can't read, it will be available for all consoles (as of now). In the article, it says "platformer" which means it will be on all platforms. And in the tags, it says "Nintendo DS, PC Gaming, PlayStation 3, Sony PSP, Videogames, Wii, Xbox 360" so yes, if any of you are hoping it will be out for your system and not just be a Wii exclusive, yes it will (if it even comes out). I am not saying that it won't come out, its just that its in the concept stages and that's it. That's not a sure sign that it WILL come out, it COULD come out, and probably will saying that Disney is making it (or funding it) and they are one of the biggest companies of the world.
I am very excited about this game. It looks quite amazing and it gives Disney a chance to branch out from the little kid things like "Wall-E" and "The Little Mermaid". This game is obviously geared to older, more mature gamers. But, I am really hoping that they go "the whole nine yards", meaning, I am hoping that they DO NOT take into consideration that little kids might want to play this. Basing off that Goofy picture, this game would probably scare little kids. I just want them to be like "this game should ONLY for more mature gamers, gamers that like 'Fable', 'Metal Gear Solid', 'Halo', and more games like that." If they make it like that, there is no doubt that this will be a great game.

welll i think it will be ok im not really sure on this one kingdom of hearts sucked like hell and im not the only one who thinks so there are a lot of games out there tha have the steam punk stuff its getting old i like a game thats not easy and i can love to play over and over again but disney already owns a lot of land and money i bet they can buy the whole g4 cast and crew thats not the point .... lets see how bad disney is going to fail at this game

it would be amazing if this game was based on what Mickey was doing during kingdom hearts 1/2, you know his EPIC quest, leading up to the story of kingdom hearts 3, showing why he wasn't around much, that he had more important enemies to deal with.....YES! to this!.......and if it supported Wii MotionPlus!.....YES Wii :L

I hope that they don't lighten or weaken the content just to accommodate the Wii, I would rather see this in all its glory and potential even if it is a PS3 exclusive to put that much EPICNESS in it.
