Scribblenauts for the Nintendo DS

I keep my nose in the air to sniff out the hottest stories in video games -- that's why they call me Scoop Johnson* --  and I have the scoop on some Scribblenauts commercials that may be coming out in Europe.

An actor friend of mine who will go nameless told me he auditioned for a commercial for the sleeper-favorite DS game late last week. The 30-second ad is probably being shot for European TV as we speak, although when and where it will air remains a mystery.

I think it's awesome that the makers of this under-the-radar DS title are capitalizing on the good will and buzz the game earned at this year's E3 and seem to be trying to market it to a wide audience. If Scribblenauts is successful, it will vindicate the idea that great games don't need explosions or blood to be fun; sometimes, all it takes is a great idea. Anyway, read my Scribblenauts preview right here.

*No one actually calls me "Scoop Johnson."
