Thanks to Telefilm Canada, the country’s culture agency responsible for providing grants relating to the entertainment industry, several details about Too Human developer Silicon Knights’ upcoming project have been revealed.
As Develop reports, the mystery project is, at least tentatively titled, Siren in the Maelstrom, and it is being developed for a “console or portable console.” The game appeared alongside other projects from various companies, including websites and mobile apps, on a list of approved Telefilm Canada grants.
Given what little info has been revealed, it’s impossible to say what the game might be. It could be the second installment in the Too Human trilogy, but the lack of “Too Human” in the title suggests otherwise. GameSpot points out that it could possibly be the PlayStation 3 exclusive that Silicon Knights and Sega signed on to develop back in 2005. Considering that Silicon Knights is remaining tightlipped about the game, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we find out more. I’m still waiting to hear back from Sega though, so stay tuned.
What improvements would Too Human fans like to see in the next installment and beyond?

@ Prubar: Yeah I guess a little more variety in the enemies would have been nice, but there still was a pretty decent amount of it with all the different enemy leaders, polarity enemies and enemy types. If you find yourself selling off too much lower-level crap, then just set your auto-salvage higher. I found that one of the most fun things about the game: the whole loot-whore aspect, working your way toward the elite equipment and how deeply customizable a lot of it was and how you could customize both your skills and your equipment to your own personal style of gameplay. And yeah I agree that the bosses were a bit on the boring side - a little more variety with different stages in boss battles would have been nice.

Yes IcemanMX, there are plenty of Too Human fans, despite its sales numbers, and it really is a well-made, underrated game that deserves to see its originally planned trilogy play out. Yeah the unskippable angel animation is kinda annoying, but once you start getting better at the game, you see it a lot less. I really hope we get to see the rest of the trilogy and maybe some Live content in the weapon and armor stores in the game now like there should be.

I wish Too Human had more verities of enemies so that they don t level up with you. It does not feel like your actually accomplishing anything by fighting the same enemy throughout the game. Also I was getting sick of spending most of my time in the menus, selling items and getting new ones. (less pointless weapons please). Another thing was the bosses. Grendal was sweet but the rest were unimaginative and bland, not just to look at but to fight aswell.

There were a lot of things that I did truly like about this game...and then there were a lot of things I hated. I think we can all agree they need to shorten the player's "death scene" whenever a player dies in-game. I'm thinking to about 1 second...INSTEAD OF 30!!! O_o

IcemanMX@ Too human was a decent game most got epic armor and thought that was as deep as the game went.

Not another hype up Too Human failure, please.

There are Too Human fans? Really? How about if Silicon Knights goes to work on something that they are actually good at... say, Eternal Darkness 2.

I agree that cut scene when you die is annoying, 4 player co-op, and more awesome armor and weapons would be great. Also i want to fight the huge giant and the end. That sounds good to me.

I liked Too Human and hope thye continue making them. I would like to see 4 player co-op. I don't want to see that stupid angel thing appear every time I die, or at least be able to skip it. Some truely amazing new weapons. That's really about it. I thought Too Human sold ok, but wasn't critically praised for the most part.
