One of the highlights of the last few Comic-Con is the appearance of Kevin Smith. The director of Clerks and Zach and Miri Make a Porno hosts a standing-room-only panel every year where he offers a refreshingly honest and profanity-laden antidote to the Con's usual parade of barely-disguised marketing material.
We had planned to live-blog the event, but sadly had some tech problems. So, instead of as it happened action, please enjoy my article about the event.
What do you think of Smith? Are you a fan? I'm a huge fan -- even when the guy makes bad movies (Mallrats), he's fully committed to them, and, in this age of constantly compromised and safe entertainment, it's brave of him just to take the risks needed to fail. Know what I mean?
