I realize he's a fictional character from a video game, but Clank, of Ratchet and Clank fame, must be tired of always getting second billing. Luckily, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time, the next game in the series, will give Clank a bigger role. Speaking at a Comic-Con 2009, the game's creators promise there will be more Clank gameplay in A Crack In Time than any other Ratchet & Clank game ever.
Among the new weapons/gadgets for Clank to play with are a weapon that allows him to create a time bubble and slow everything down within that bubble. Clank can also record himself doing various actions and play back that action so that multiple things can happen at once. (Crazy puzzles imminent.)
Another new wrinkle in the game: Constrocto weapons. These are personalized, upgradeable weapons for A Crack In Time. You will be able to change the appearance and function of gear. For example: There's a pistol where you can change the stock, barrel and type of upgrade.
As for when Clank will be trying out his new starring role and gear: Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time should be out by the end of 2009. It is a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Read the rest of the details at Patrick Klepek's excellent live-blog.
What do you think about Ratchet Vs. Clank? Is it high-time for Clank to get more air-time, or should he be content staying in the shadows?
