During a question and answer session with Capcom at Comic-Con 2009, a young kid declared he wanted to know what's next for Mega Man. Capcom tried to steer the kid towards Mega Man Star Force 3, but since the kid already owned that one, he wanted to know what was happening next.
Capcom community manager Seth Killian tried to answer best he could. Killian said Mega Man 9 was a "big surprise" to much of the company. Keiji Inafune, the man behind the blue bomber and a driving force for much of what Capcom develops these days, is the one who makes that decision.
"When Inafune-san wants to make a game happen he can really make it happy quickly," said Killian. "I think it's worth being hopeful."
Another game just like Mega Man 9, please.

I want megaman x9 ASAP
And please no more sucky sucky games like star force, card battle game based in a non existant megaman....
we only want another fight against sigma.....but in 2D ( Just like x4/x5/x6)

Eh, I don't know about you guys but I freakin' loved the Battle Network series. Up to 3 that it. Number 3 was the best and... just hit the sweet spot if you know what I mean. Four was crap, only good thing about number five is that you could play as half Rockman, half Forte (I prefer the Japanese names, thank you). The final one (6) was slightly redeeming but still wasn't as good as the first 3.
Just so you know, they are doing some form of Rockman.exe/Ryuusei no Rockman Crossover (MMBN ans Starforce) next. Here's the teaser site:

I want the X series back in action best series IMO but they should at least release all x games via XBL arcade or PSN that would be sick

too bad CAPCOM gave away the online Survival Horror/Zombie franchise to LEFT 4 DEAD. If they had done REsident Evil: OUTBREAK the way we the fan's wanted (with voice chat, friends list, and most of all, downloadable characters we could purchase with MS points, including MegaMan, would have been great.

X is much cooler than Mega. I really wish they'd stop getting kids out of grade school to develop the game and give X(or even Mega) a game that looks as if it was made within the past 8 years. I didn't buy the next gen of consoles to play 8 bit games.

The card battle spin off series needs to die in the worst way, I mean the rehashed side scrollers were getting old but Id still rather play Mega Man X2887657657 than to play another Mega Man Battle Network/Star Force

I dont like the whole megaman card battle strategy thing his recent games have been going. I liked the concept of megaman battle network. I think it would have been a very cool rpg game if you had your own -man character and used him to fight other netnavis.

I'm going to have to agree with Widowmaker here, I enjoyed the X Series much more than the normal Mega Man series, I loved how colorful it was, and how !@#$ing hard the boss fights in the earlier versions. Hopefully they don't make another that ISN'T sidescrolling, Teehee.
