If a handful of games and several novelizations haven’t provided you with enough Halo content, then you’ll be pleased to hear about 343 Industries upcoming Halo Legends project.
Taking a cue (and a few of the studios) from the short-film collection based on The Matrix universe (The Animatrix), Halo Legends will consist of several anime shorts, produced by some of the world’s most renowned anime studios, including Production I.G., Bones, Casio Entertainment, STUDIO4°C and Toei Animation.
343 Industries’ creative director Frank O’Connor said via press release:
“The opportunity to work with talents such as Shinji Aramaki, Mamoru Oshii and others from some of the greatest anime studios is a very rare opportunity for Microsoft…We’ve seen the world through Master Chief’s eyes, and we’ve experienced facets of the universe through a variety of literary prisms, but now we get to watch new tales unfold in really rich, visually dynamic ways. I think anime fans and ‘Halo’ fans alike are in for a real treat.”
While no official release date has been announced yet, the project is set to debut today at
Comic-Con ’09. And since we have quite a few troops on the ground there, expect to hear more about the project as details emerge, especially around the time of the official
Halo panel later this afternoon.
Which anime studio’s vision of the Halo universe are you most excited about seeing?

This art style looks like the one for Iron Man: ARmored adventures on Nicktoon Network.

I don't like anime. I love Halo.
I wonder how I'll feel about this. The RvB anime was pretty cool...so...I'll keep mah hopes up.

This reminds me a lot of like what happened after the first Matrix movies was releases. The Animatrix was a good way of opening up the universe before the last two movies killed the whole thing to bejeezus and back again.
Now the Halo universe has been pretty well opened up by the novels and comics and ARGs along with the original video games themselves. But all this is going to be the first thing other then the games that has movement and voices outside of the ones my imagination assigns while I flip pages. I look forward to it.

Ok to make this fair evaluation I will not comment on how much I hate or dislike Halo. But as for an Anime of Halo I think its a great idea only because of the fact that the series will be kept short and only be 7 episodes. Yeah its Halo Mania but its not like its a saturday morning cartoon starring Master Chief and his lovable monkey partner who helps him take down the covenant army. Its going to be a serious amine and I personally ( I tried but failed) Love the fact that story is getting so expansive. If you don't like FPS then play Halo Wars, If you like neither of those then read the books, If you cant read you can now watch Halo in a different form. And this isn't milking. If it were we would have heard about a Mario and Master Chief Racing game because Mario is the king of getting milked. So just calm down and take everything one at a time. 3 games is not overwhelming sorry it more of outstanding that it only took three games to make them the most popular series out there to date. Halo Wars doesn't count as a full game because it was more of a test project in my eyes. Halo Wars II will though. And all will say that is way to many games with "Halo" in the title. Well Let me ask you his how many games are there about sports... or even to narrow it down about football this year? Way less then how many Halo titles there are or have been. So thats how I feel.

i am not a fan of master chief or his games, but i love anime, i definitely want to see this

I'm most looking foward to STUDIO4C's version. They usually have godly animation, and I expect it to be one of the more abstract versions.

Well, right off the bat I can tell his helmet visor is over-longated.... or, whatever word to mean it's too long..... like today.....
Could be cool, I won't judge it just because it's anime. Though statistically, I'm not optimistic since animes that are actually good are outnumbered 20-1 by ones that suck like something that ZP would make an analogy out of.

Halo and anime? Now I'm twice as uninterested. Snore...

So I can't help but notice there is no mention of the anime that Rooster Teeth did for RvB!?! That was like a year ago. I found the production blog of the American studio they worked with to make the anime that is on the Reconstruction DVD (huge RvB fan that I am). Find it here: http://fatescrew.com/archives/ category/rtanimation

All the other halos were good. I hope they don't screw it up

With just that picture it's hard to tell, but I've loved every Halo installment thus far (yes, even Halo Wars).

I know there are plenty of people that don't like Halo but I don't know how you can think it's milked. Halo has a freaking bible with an entire universe full of stories.
Halo CE revolutionized multiplayer with console LAN Parties. Halo 2 brought us an insane Online Multiplayer for a console and Halo 3 brought us Forge along with the ability to create and render your own highlight videos. For consoles, Halo has brought things to the table that no other game has and each game has something that makes it stand out. I'm not sure if Halo gave it to us but it definitley made Tea Bagging main stream.
Halo 2 out sold Halo 1 and Halo 3 out sold Halo 2 so how is that milking ??? Doesn't milking mean trying to get the last drop out ? Halo doesn't have drops left, it has kegs.
Hell, I even love Halo Wars. I honestly think that Halo: REACH will be the mother of them all because that's the best part of the Halo story.
I think an anime is a great idea and the fans will eat it up.

I'm not mad Microsoft... I'm just disappointed
