Not too long ago Atari invited The MMO Report to come up to San Francisco to spend some time with their upcoming MMO, Champions Online. Not only is it the best looking game we've seen in a while, but the seeminly infinite options in the character customization and the anyone/anytime/anywhere PvP system they've developed seem to beg the hardcore MMOers to come in and test the waters. Are you up for to the challenge, heroes?

    It does look pretty good. I think I'll wait a bit maybe the beginning of 2010 to see if it's 1) Popular enough to spend money on 2) Worth it and 3) Actually fun to play. But everything so far looks really good and I'm looking forward to reading some reviews of it.

    While i'm excited for Champions online, i must agree with Caledric1. Not on the paying thing, but that i'd like to see more games covered, like Darkfall, Mortal Online, Huxly, and such.

    You guys sure have a hard on for Champions online... how much is Atari paying you for the coverage? I was hoping to see more games covered but every time I bring up the site you are fawning over Champions Online.

    Looks awsome!!!! I just hope it's not as repetitive as CoX. CoX was good till you get to Lvl 50 then there is not much point to playing it unless you are the type of person that likes to listen to the same song all day long. I hope that there will be a little more of a veriety to the missions. I hope they have alot more then 10 differant mission sets with 2 or 3 alternating maps. My wife has several Lvl 50s in CoX and plays on a daily basis. I cannot figure out how she does it when I can play more then 1 or 2 missions without getting bored. I will give this one a try but im sure it will end up disapointing and boring me afthe first month or two.

    Looks wicked, I do like how they reused some of the City of Heroes costume pieces, and even some of the animations from what I can discern, that will definitely make it feel more familiar for me, as a self proclaimed City of Heroes/Villains Veteran [^_~];

    Word is it is still coming out for the 360. Nobody ever said it was cancelled for the 360. My thoughts are that they are focusing on getting the game out on the PC and then work on the 360 version.

    WOW better watch out cause this MMO looks amazing. The only thing that this doesn't have is villains I mean I want to be a hero but, i wanna be a little evil now and then another bad thing is that It isn't goin to be out for the 360 from release so if I wanna play from my 360 I have to wait. But I really like the PvP cause theirs an every man for themselves which looks cool. But I really hope they make an Xpac that allows you to be a villain because besides that it looks great.

    @Greiback: That's exactly what I thought.
    Seriously, it sounded like all they could say as far as customization was concerned was that it was like CoH, only better. From what I could see, all that Champions has going for it are the same ideas already employed by CoH/CoV. Now take into consideration that with CoH/CoV you can not only create a villain, you can actually play as one, and that CoH/CoV has 5 years of success, updates, backstory and an experienced, dedicated studio (Paragon) behind it. What new ideas does Champions bring to the table that can convince me to switch after playing CoH/CoV for 3 years?

    I had to stop taking the first guy seriously when he said "We had Conan, we had Warhammer, now we have Champions Online!"....
    Way to talk about two major MMO flops and say that they are "The last big things"...... man... anyway, it might be good, but that opening made it hard to take it seriously.

    ive really been wanting to learn more about the quest system/story progression. There are times when I don't want to be just simply grinding XP or teaming up with others, or PVP. Anyone know about the questing or how lvling solo will be?
