If any of you happen to be in the Los Angeles area sometime soon, I highly recommend checking out the 2005 Tony Award winning musical Monty Python's Spamalot. I saw it over the weekend, and it was fantastic. Now, I've been a line-citing Python fan since I was a kid, and yet I couldn't help being almost more excited to see the show's lead actress perform in person.
Her name is Merle Dandridge, and if that name doesn't ring a bell, don't feel bad. I didn't recognize it at first either. Although if you've played any installments in the Half-Life 2 series, then you are intimately familiar with her work in one very significant way, as she is the voice of one Alyx Vance! And even though she sings (and boy can she sing) through the majority of her time on stage, you can still pick up a bit of Alyx in her voice every so often, and it's kind of surreal when you do.
Well, that's it. Just wanted to share that with you, because I got a kick out of it. Oh, and if you're looking for another example of a Half-Life 2 character in the live-action world, check out HBO's vampire series True Blood. Michelle Forbes, the actress who plays Dr. Judith Mossman in the HL2 series, has a recurring role on the show.

Spamalot closed, but the same producers are giving 10 perfs of the best of Monty Python skits at the Ricardo Montalban!!! Show will be called "An Evening Without Monty Python".
