Streets Of Rage On iPhone Seems Awesome…Until You Play It

When Sega of America announced Streets of Rage arrived on iPhone this morning, I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt -- hey, maybe this one will work. A quick download later, however, and I'm here to report: it doesn't. The above screen shot, taken directly from my iPhone 3G, is all you need to know about Streets of Rage on the iPhone. Look at that awesome d-pad interface!

Thats been my main complaint about the iPhone. It NEEDS an real input device. Like the Blackberry, LG Voyager, or Samsung Rant. The onscreen keyboard for the iPhone is ridiculously difficult to use, because of the small buttons... and you cant use a stylus!

and iTunes sucks too. let me drag and drop from my PC. Why does it change filenames of my songs... so I cant find them?

This is to be expected. Sega is quickly becoming the most laughable "App Store Developer" or "App Store Porter", since all they do is release rushed ports of their games. All of their games are rushed ports that play horribly, with terrible slow down and abysmal controls. Super Monkey Ball, Sonic The Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, are all horribly reviewed by the users. It is really a shame too. Because the one thing they underestimated was the App Store's Customers very thin line of forgiveness. Rip Us off once, shame on you, Rip Us Of twice................If you Rip Us Off we cant be Ripped Off again.

Companies waste their time making crap games like that because idiots waste their money buying it. Probably isn't too expensive and time consuming to make an iPhone app/game since I see (on the news) 9 year old kids making them and selling them on the app store. Thus, companies probably only need a few buys to have them break even and then... raking in the $$$.

whats the point? iphone games suck. why waste time and effort into making them when it could be used to do something better or innovative. if you want portable games just get a ds--better catalogue of games you can play compared to the dsi. or get a psp

Hmm...some iphone games were just NOT meant to be in the real world. The excitement after DLing this game lasted about as long as a piece of fruit striped gum.

How is this different than any other iPhone game where your thumbs cover half the stupid screen?!? This why I doubt the validity of the iphone beyond DS style games- I want to be able to SEE what I'm playing.
