You weren't supposed to be able to purchase the "All Fronts" downloadable expansion (with single and multiplayer content) for Gears of War 2 last night, let alone at a cheaper price. Yet, "All Fronts" magically appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace at a lower price point last night before someone realized the switch had been flipped.
Gamers who attempted to purchase the content ran into errors and were unable to properly download the content -- surprise, surprise! Epic Games wasn't sure what happened overnight, but Gears of War official forum moderator "Flak" has since confirmed it was a bug on Microsoft's side, both in terms of price and release.
The DLC is still scheduled for release on the 28th for 1,600 Microsoft points (All Fronts) and 1,200 Microsoft points (Dark Corners)," said Flak. "Something happened at Microsoft which we have no control over. 1,600 points is an awesome deal for all of the content. (And our guys worked hard creating it!)"
As Flak pointed out, the content is officially scheduled for July 28.

Translation:
We really just released chopped content from original release...
Our guys rehashed already made maps, changed the weapons around and two new ones... I don't see what the fuss is that we want you to pay for the same content... again... I mean... we fooled you with two DLCs... why not go for three?

Having been a fan of Gears since the original, I enjoy the gritty, visceral nature of the game, There is just something about the up close and personal aspect of it that never gets old. The storyline is compelling enough to keep you interested for the singleplayer game. Multiplayer is, in my opinion, better than any game I've played. The multiplayer does have its share of stability issues, but for the most part the Title Updates continue to address the situation. So the new maps and the deleted scene for Gears 2 are going to be well worth the wait.

GEARS OF WAR 2 IS ALL ABOUT THE ONLINE PLAY. PUBLIC MATCHES, ID HAVE TO AGREE ARE MOST TIMES LAGGING (ESPECIALLY WOTHOUT A FULL TEAM). BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO HAVING A THIRD-PERSON SHOOTER, I BELIVE IT DOES AND WILL REIGN SUPREME. BY HAVING NICE GRAPHICS, GOOD WEAPONS, VENUES+EXPANSIONS, DESTRUCTIVE ENVIRONMENTS, 5V5 ECT. ITS STILL THE GAME TO HAVE. IF YOUR A GAMER THAT LIKES CAMPAIGN/CO-OP ITS STILL THE GAME TO HAVE LOL.. I PLAY THIS GAME WITH MY TEAM ONLINE UNDER MLG AND GAMEBATTLES WHERE U DONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT LAG (SLOW CONNECTIONS). ALL YOU WORRY ABOUT IS TACTICS, REP, RECOGNITION AND RECREATION. IF YOU HAVE A BETTER THIRD-PERSON ONLINE VIDEOGAME FOR 360 THAT BEATS THIS ONE, BY ALL MEANS PUT IT UNDER THIS COMMENT.

first off gears 2 online multiplayer did suffer i won't deny that. SInce then it has improved alot and thw 20 bucks, you get a bunch of maps and an added campaign mode. I find it fine especially horde mode. Such a great mode bungie has to attempt it for odst.
Multiplayer is not perfect but neither is online. Halo 3 is the most played online shooter and i can spend an hour shooting holes in it's gameplay.

Releasing a broken product with impunity is one thing. Making a bucket-load of money on it is another. Ignoring the landslide of complaints to address the myriad problems with said product by the consumers who gave the game its life in the first place is another again.
BUT to continually fleece gamers with token, overpriced DLC that doesn't address any of the game's brokenness is just, frankly, spitting in the customers' faces while laughing all the way to the bank!
How people are not compelled to petition a boycott of Epicfailure (or at very least Gears 3) as backlash for being so abjectly RIPPED OFF with '2' is testament to why shonky companies, like the aforementioned, can ply their lowly trade AND never-been-kissed, poindexter, cradle-snatching dorks like Cliffy Dweeb can drive half-million-dollar sports cars!
Shame on you gamers for being so easy-to-please and lowbrow. Enjoy being ripped off again and again and again until 'you' grow balls enough to reject slop and offal when it's served up to you, instead of lapping it up like hollow-headed halfwits! -_-

I'm thinking that someone over at Microsoft is trying to sabotage Gears of War 2. I remember that those golden Lancers became available on Xbox Live once. Seems a bit suspicious that something else got leaked.

For you all that plan on getting the game when it becomes available again I can tell you that you won't be disappointing. I can't play the game but I watch my husband play it and love the story behind it. Anyways I'm gonna post a link of a video we made for those that didn't believe that he got it that you can check out just so you get an idea of what to expect.

Too many bugs for a game this old. I refuse to buy anything for a broken game. Sorry epic you rushed Gears 2 out too early. I refuse to take 1500 point penalties for nothing (yes I know how it opperates).

I REFUSE TO PURCHASE DLC'S FOR A BROKEN GAME. Gears 2 could be such an amazing game, but even after all this time has so many bugs and issues, that I refuse to put my time into it. When you have to worry about massive amounts of lag, bugs, point penalties for not quitting (-1500 points just goes off your score for no reason at all, and yes I understand how the quitting penalty works), and exploits, that isn't fun. That isn't what makes a game fun.
Sorry epic, if you hadn't rushed out Gears 2 and fixed the piece of shiz, I'd be playing that instead of Warcraft right now.

For 1600 points you get all the maps plus single player content. 1200 gets u just the maps. If gears for you is laggy and buggy, its your connection not the game..

I play Gears for what it is, (a great coop experience) nothing more, nothing less. I even treat the multiplayer as a coop experience with a couple friends and bots. It's all good. So I never experience all the problems people cry about. I've never been "dropped" during horde mode either, but I only play with friends. I'll prolly pick this up on the 28th to further the Gears experience.

I stopped playing Gears2 after being dropped from Horde mode 5 straight times in a row on the 25th wave every...f-ing....time. >:-|

Why dont they write net code to make the game switch host when the original host quits so the game can keep going, and further more why dont they have servers for this game? time and time again I am faced with a person who can kill me with 1 shot, after i stand behind them and they are unaware of me I HARD aim the Target turns red and then I fire a clear round into them at kiss of death range and they dont die ? Halo3 has 16 people to fair with at a time and at lest when there is lag in halo 3, one player doesn't become god and kill everyone regardless of connection. (excusing the obvious cheating) but really the net code must be weird, its only 10 people why is connection always the problem?

here are some amazing games for 20 dollars: Bioshock, the orange box, mass effect, mirrors edge, ninja gaiden 2, star wars the force unleashed, GRAW 2, Burnout Paradise
all the above games i would rather get then the stupid dlc for a glitchy game

I don't hate Gears of War 2 but my problem is how could they let this happen and give such a short crappy response; how much does Epic really care about Gears 2? It has been glitchy and insufficient. I don't even understand the ratings, oh well back then there were a lot of fanboys.

WTF happened to the developers of unreal tournament? something liek 19 maps and a couple new mods FOR FREEEEE in ut3 (well if u have a ps3 or PC :P)
