Dead Space isn't being made into a movie (though I wouldn't count it out), but last night, my girlfriend and I were looking for a scare and loaded up a Twitter-recommended horror flick, Splinter. We didn't know a lick about the movie, except that horror fans complimented its liberal use of a live creature, rather than relying on cheap CG, like many horror movies today. Rock!

What I didn't expect was the creatures acting a whole hell of a lot like the lumbering flesh demons that occupy the Ishimura in Dead Space. You don't get a good sense of the Dead Space comparisons in the above movie trailer, but take my word for it: it's creepy. Not only is Splinter a solid and short horror flick, it sold me on a Dead Space movie, too.

Splinter's available through Netflix's streaming service, too -- easy access, ahoy!

Dude Dead Space was an awesome game their makin sequal called Dead Space 2 it supposed to br released next year in 2010 and i heard that a movie might be made you know a live action movie.

I don't think this was a SyFy movie. I'm pretty sure it was an Indi one.

But... it's still an awesome movie.

I didn't see a single monster in that entire clip. That in no way made me think a dead space live-action film would be possible or good.

was a ok movie. But, that's not screech it's the guy smart guy from Road Trip, he is also on a new show on USA something about a doctor in a ritzy area who makes house calls

i thought that the movie was desent and that dead space was a decent game i just recently got it and it wasnt to short it seemed just like a fine game to me

I watched this on SyFy a few months ago. It was actually well above average for a tv movie, I really liked it. Lots of gore and violence, rent it for the even better version.
