EA Sports is taking Fight Night home...PlayStation Home, that is. The company is adding a Fight Night branded space to the EA Sports Complex in Home. Here's what you can expect from this "swanky boxing themed night club:"
- An interactive DJ game
- Rewards,
- Plenty of "places to chill with your nearest and dearest Home-boys and Home-girls."
This is phase one of the Fight Night space. Lots of mini-game updates and new virtual items are scheduled for future deployment, so stay tuned...or stay logged into Home.
I really like the PlayStation 3, and I've tried very hard to like Home. But it just isn't for me. It could be that I'm not the "target market" for the service -- I have an actual home that I can decorate any way I choose, I don't like visiting actual malls in the actual world, let alone virtual malls, and I've never been a fan of "social" MMOs like Second Life. My forays into Home remind me of SL...but with more advertising and marketing.
It's been a few months, though, so maybe the new spaces they're adding to Home have really livened the place up. What about you? Are you Home bound? What would improve the service for you?

I do really want to get into Home and play the games, but I agree with Snookgum 123, that waiting in the lines for the games are ridiculous. I give up, I'm not going to sit there and wait for who knows how long to play a game when I could turn off Home and play a real game.
I think it's still evolving and growing, but it's just not quite there yet.

hey stephen johnson...
you might want to correct that, the space was released today and the DJ game is ok but the space is a bit glitchy
also namco bandai and socom have spaces on home now as well just to let you know

waiting for a slot to be free just to jump in and play is rediculous.!!!!

They should make a place where I can see online matches from random games that I can pick from. Ladder match or rank match. IF you are the highest in the rank people can watch you live at the place when you play a match. I can choose from killzone2, fightnight, streetfighter 4, tekken, any games that got a later ranking system. That would be great to see the pro or the highest rank person play. Than you can see if hes a true cheater or just simply a pro at heart.

I wonder if Arturo Gatti is gonna be online.

Home has really evolved over the last few months to the point where there is a lot to see and do now. You have to avoid a lot of dorks in there but I have actually met several of my PSN friends through chatting it up in Home. It's a great service that I think is only beginning the scratch the surface of it's potential.

I keep going back to home figuring something new will make it fun but it always fall flat. I don't want to go and text chat. Why don't more people have headsets? Just get a cheap Bluetooth for $15.

I tried to like home, but I couldn't get into it. Granted I played it pretty early, before most of the "game spaces" were set up. I didn't like having to wait in line to play the "games". Why on earth would you do that in a virtual space?
I doubt this is even possible with the technology (and bandwidth), but for something like Home to work for me, it would need to be a place where multiple people could enjoy the content together. If I could go to a friends virtual apartment, he'd throw in a movie that he owns (I wouldn't need to, just like watching a movie at another person's house) and we could watch the movie on a slightly reduced screen and chat while it's going on (Mystery Science Theatre PS style). Or a venue where I could watch real-time matches of games (fighting games come to mind as being enjoyable) in a venue or apartment. I guess I'm saying I'd want a way to interact and enjoy the content that I bought the PS3 for to enjoy it virtually the same way I would in real life.
