Cheats and Walkthroughs

Thatgamecompany unquestionably struck critical gold with both of its downloadable titles flOw and Flower. Both games feature a calming simplicity mixed with a striking visual pallet that make them two of the most unique and satisfying titles to come along in a while. Yet, as the studio co-founder Jenova Chen tells Eurogamer, the developer’s next game will be "totally different," and be “something you’ve never experienced before,” yet it will feel “like a natural progression.”
Chen goes on to discuss the need for games to explore and evoke more mature emotions. No argument here. (Although, what could be more mature than screaming at your TV and then throwing your controller against the wall?) Considering Chen and his team’s history with Sony and the PS3, it’s hardly surprising that the company’s next project will most likely be published by Sony as well.
As for why he feels such a connection with Sony, Chen said, “They have this appreciation of games that are more interesting to adults. They prefer adult entertainment, and the games we make are a good match for them." Chen didn’t elaborate on what some of those games might be, however he did mention God of War as being “a really good game about hatred."
On that note: Do you think the PlayStation 3 and Sony are more welcoming than other publishers in terms of “adult entertainment”? Examples?

This kind of approach to gaming is as refreshing as it is needed. We need guys like Chen and companies like thatgamecompany to keep pushing the possibilities of what a video games can be because it really is getting to a point where you can barely tell the games apart. Especially the shooters and fantasy titles like Space Lord of the Lynch Emperor Blood Onyx From The Land Of Ghazul with Nebula Teleportation Expansion Pack 3.7. zzzzzzzzzzz...........

I'm 25 and i feel as if the PS3 and their catalog better suits my tastes. I always love the misplaced hate toward LBP. Sure it looks all pretty and childish, but i doubt a child is going to use that game to its full extent.

I have to agree with RROD, surprisingly. You were pretty much looking to the future for good games with a hefty PS3 purchase. Whereas with a Wii or 360, you had a decently priced console with entertaining and simple games right off the bat.
By the way, kids, maturity and taboo (ie: nudity, swearing) are not the same thing.

I am in the same boat I feel sony does support a more mature audience. Especially with a title like heavy rain coming to the platform. Would the average kid want to play a psychological thriller based on a murder mystery featuring problem solving? No, they would probably rather pick up their halo disk and tea bag people.
I own both a PS3 and 360 and it really is true in the price difference as other posters have stated. It would be tough financially for a younger person to get a PS3 unless their parents are willing to shell out the cash.

i think the ps3 is more interested in adult demographic. i think one of more obvious differences is the dashboard vs. XMB. the new dashboard while it is fancy, i absolutly hate the avatars, i love me some XMB. simple and precise. i just enjoy my ps3 infinetly, i find it easier and faster then the xbox, and at the same time i don't have to look at a stupid avatar that looks like a 10 year old kid when i am 30 years old. i really, REALLY, hate that. the online, as it was mentioned before the general population that i have played with are much more mature and less whinny and even less insulting then the xbox live crew i have been stuck with in the past, and believe me....it is an absolute welcome change.

Examples are just easy.
Just look at the Heavy Rain or God Of War 3, Metal Gear Solid and what the adult materials they usually got.
Blackkro
I agree that they are more welcoming for adult entertainment, look at the following games for playstation.
Metal Gear Solid 4: 1. the B&B's how they are hot chicks under the cool looking suits, and ya get to take pics of them while they pose for you. Thats a pretty mature experience there(having something good to look at). 2. Apparently naomi and otacon have sex(even though you dont get to see it) cause naomi grabs otacon and they hop into the helicopter.
God of War- The naked women in the pool.
Those are the only examples I can think of right now, but yes they do bring much more adult entertainment.
Nintendo just brings happy, fun, cute looking aspect games.
Xbox 360 just brings shooting and blood and gore.
Playstation 3 on the other hand has All that plus the more adult content and such, so all in all PS3 is better.

I'd say is a misconception, to say the least. You know, for starters, the PS3 is black and if anyone knows, black symbolizes bold, dark, hatred(like you said Jake), etc. Is that simple, put the 360 and PS3 together, the differences could not be any more distinct. But overall, when you think of the 360, what do you think?? You don't think the same for the PS3, the 360 is less associated with terms like those, the terms often used are less lenient and let's be fair, what's their argument? Smart, intelligence, convenient, etc. You know, Microsoft, that's pretty much. And their system is white pretty much, white is a less symbolic, it really represents the good and what is the 360's argument?? Exactly. Oh and what color is the Wii?? Yeah, give me my $$$$, LOL!!! :)
For starters, I think they use "Adult" because of what it can do, after all, the only difference is some games are exclusive or not, that does make each comparison fair? I don't think so. Some games are more preferable than others, might like it one system or the other. As for PS3 being "The Man", that's too far fetched. Kratos is the man.
Not only that but mature emotions? What the? What's he got in there, hidden poems or something? LOL!! :) Now that, I don't know, is a game, developers and their peeps decide how they make the game based on their intentions. You wanna be a badass then you will, or a good guy, then you will.
Hmmm...if we can download porn, yeah, for sure, LOL!! :)

Yes I do think Sony is more geared toward an adult demographic. It's just me though, I do own all three consoles but lately it seems to me a lot of exclusives are aimed at a more mature audience.
I also agree with Chen about how games are somewhat emotional. When i play Gears or God of war I'm feeling more of a hate type feeling which by no means is bad. But when you hop on LBP or Mario game its more of a reminiscent or happy feeling(dunno if that makes any sense).
Not to sound fanboyish but lately it seems I've been on the PS3 a lot more than the 360. The dust of the Wii only comes off at party's and such. Maybe because Sony is aiming in my demographic? I dunno....anyone else has any input?
RRODisBack
And to answer the question, yes, I think Sony and the PS3 are more welcoming for adult entertainment because the install base are mostly adults who own a PS3. You pretty much have to be an adult with a job to own a PS3. Mommies will only buy the other 2 cheap systems. Don't believe me then go onto PSN and listen to the people on it verses all of the high pitched voices on XBL.
RRODisBack
Great, the PS3 is the only next gen system to where you can play great games without holding a gun in the character's hand. Flower is truly innovative and I look forward to seeing what they can come up with next. This is exactly what the industry needs now, more creativity and less shooters.
