Valkyria Chronicles is a great tactics-based RPG for the PlayStation 3, but it appears like the sequel will be going portable and hopping over to the PSP. SEGA plans on releasing Valkyria Chronicles 2: The Gallia Royal Military Academy this Winter in Japan.
I've emailed SEGA to find out if the game is currently slated for release in the United States or Europe. I really hope a localized release is in the cards. Valkyria Chronicles was one of my favorite games released last year. What can I say? I'm a sucker for tactics games and there are only so many times I can play Final Fantasy: Tactics.
Did you play Valkyria Chronicles? What's your favorite tactics game of all time?

Such a wonderful game.. Why not put it back on the PS3 where it belongs?

I played it and loved it for the PS3. Probably, my favorite tactics game was Shining Force for the Genesis... it was the game that got me started in S.RPG gaming.

I really loved the PS3 game and am enjoying the Anime based on it right now. Just got done watching episode 15 a few minutes ago in fact. This new game may force me to get a PSP. But why don't they just tweak a few things and put out a sequel on the PS3 using the same game engine? Why would they expect this type of game to sell better on PSP?

I played it, and it was probably the best one that I've played, but there were little annoying things that prevented me from really getting into it, like having to start all the way over if you failed. However, it was funny throwing grenades and people who couldn't move, because it wasn't their turn.

I will definitely be getting this if it comes to the US. It does need a PS3 sequel though. Unfortunately, like most of Sega's great games, it didn't sell that well. I really hope it did better nationally, then it did locally. Most nearby Best Buys knocked it down to $10 to get rid of them, and several of the Gamestops haven't sold any copies. It's really a bit sad, as the game rocks.

Loved this game. My favorite is Front Mission 3.

im looking forward to this but im still hoping for a "true" sequel or prequel on the ps3 and since this is being announced this soon im guessing that they might end up having a real sequel announced later this year or maybe early next year

PSP? Really, Sony? I guess it can work but woulda been better on the Ps3 where most people want it.
