Koobface on Twitter

Virus alert! The notorious "Koobface" virus, which has previously attacked sites like Facebook and MySpace, has been unleashed upon Twitter. If you see any tweets containing "my home video :)" followed by a link, do yourself a favor and refrain from clicking.

Upon clicking, you will be taken to a page resembling a YouTube video that informs you that your Flash player is out of date, prompting you to update. At this point, you'll be asked to download and run an .exe which contains the virus. It's pretty standard stuff, but this is your warning.

Twitter is on the case and has begun temporarily suspending users that have been infected to stop to spread of these malicious tweets. If you've been suspended, expect an email from Twitter explaining this. If you've been infected, Trend Micro can help you out with a fix.

You've been warned!
