Activision seemed prepared to drop the Call of Duty name for Modern Warfare 2, essentially allowing Infinity Ward to launch a new franchise. It's not happening to that extreme anymore; Infinity Ward revealed the box art for Modern Warfare 2 today, complete with the traditional Call of Duty logo. The logo is different, however, emphasizing the Modern Warfare tagline over Call of Duty.

Screw the box art. The image at the top however, with the soldier entering a Rio favela, now that's a scenario worth talking about.

Infinity Ward doesn't need the Call of Duty name to sell this game so it's obviously legal crap. I call it 'MoD2'.

I know some people are calling it CoD5, but I personally prefer just calling it Modern Warfare 2.

ok to me i can care less about art cover and a lot more bout the game. Sure its nice having cool cover art but your playing the game not the cover art. Now Call of Duty 4 is my favoreite game .... ever and i really do hope that gets beaten by CODMW2.

Despite the box art, the screenshot at the top indicates South America (et: Brazil). I don't personaly know of the architecture of any South American government buildings but I would think its safe to say this isn't going down in the U.S. of A. Attacks on America still hit too close to home with 9/11 to make them commercially viable in America with out serious public opposition (not to mention potential government intervention "omg terrorists will use it to plot/train for REAL attacks".
