According to an interview with Nintendo Power, No More Heroes creator Goichi Suda wants Travis Touchdown in the next Super Smash Bros. game. "That’s why I’m working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible," Suda said. "Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great,"
I agree that Touchdown appearing in Smash Bros. would be pretty rad, but we were talking at TheFeed about characters we'd like to see in future Smash Bros. games, and here's our list:

Yeah, you all realize the chances of any of these characters (especially the third-party ones) actually making it in are slim to none? But hey, it's fun, so I'll jump in.
-I would be thrilled to see a few Tales of Symphonia characters (specifically Lloyd, Kratos, Emil, and Richter).
-Seeing (classic) Mega Man characters would be nice.
-Jack (from MadWorld) would be an interesting add-in, but unlikely due to the M-rated nature of his attacks.
-Having Avatar: The Last Airbender characters would be pretty cool (especially Zuko, Sokka, and Aang).
-Banjo/Kazooie would be nice if Microsoft didn't own their immortal souls.
-Castlevania Characters!
-Final Fantasy characters would make nice additions IF Nintendo could pay Square Enix enough to add the characters. Of course, considering they've sold enough Wiis to provide each and every one of their employees 24-karat gold baths, I don't think that'll be a problem.
-Bomberman.
