When LucasArts announced the company would start embracing the digital distribution revolution, there was much rejoicing. Matters of price, however, were still being worked out during the announcement. LucasArts' games have since gone live on Steam, which means the prices are hidden no more.

  • The Dig -- $4.99
  • Star Wars: Starfighter -- $4.99
  • Star Wars: Republic Commando -- $9.99
  • LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures -- $19.99
  • Loom -- $4.99
  • Armed and Dangerous -- $9.99
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II -- $19.99
  • Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade -- $4.99
  • Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis -- $4.99
  • Thrillville: Off the Rails -- $19.99

Sounds fair all around, don't you think?

$20 for Battlefront 2 is outrageous. That game is years old now (plural on the word "year" if you hadn't noticed) and although it's a great game, asking me to cough up more than double what I could pick it up for in a store is a bit much. The rest are fairly reasonable I suppose, though I think Armed and Dangerous isn't anywhere near long enough or fun enough to warrant a $10 price tag. I'll let that slide since nobody but me seemed to have played it when it came out.

I'd have to agree with Socalmic47, Day of the tentacle was and is still one of my favorites. I just can't play it anymore 'cause I don't have DOS or Soundblaster, or even an early 90's computer for that mater. Ah, the good ol' days.

Guys, chill out, this is just the initial offering of LucasArts games, more are coming, they just haven't said which ones or when (yet). Plus, for some of the games it does take some time to tweak and update them to work on XP and Vista.

As for the prices, all I have to say is, damn them! They made them so cheap, I have no excuse to not buy all of them and I don't have the time for that. So much for quality time with the family...

Republic commandos is an awesome game. I liked it better than Halo 2, and I still play from time to time, but I got it for about $15 over a year ago.
