There's blood everywhere in the Ninja Gaiden series, especially so in Ninja Gaiden 2, where players can dismember limbs from the enemies. But with the PlayStation 3 tweaking, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tecmo is actually ratcheting back the on-screen violence, according to an interview with the game's director and producer Yosuke Hayashi over at Games Radar.
"Each game has its own concept and with Ninja Gaiden 2, the focus was on extreme violence," said Hayashi. "But with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, we really questioned whether violence is a necessity for a game, so we decided to move away from that trend. So the violence 'approach' is not the way we approached the development of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Being able to unlock higher levels of gore would be out of kilter with the concept of the game."
Well, that's a new one.

im all for the blood and gore, but shouldn't they have reduced the blood on the 360, which would probably keep it from all the bugs and lagging, as the 360 is weaker, and have the ps3 version have all the blood and gore, as it could handle it much better.

I don't get it? In Ninja Gaiden the game IS violence. You cut stuff up with a sword. If you tone down the violence, what is the game? If they just mean less blood, then fine. Probably the game would run smoother with less blood FX.
Sigma was the first game I bought for PS3 and the only NG game I ever played. I loved it all the way through. The blood splatter effect was simplistic and crappy in that one. You'd see blood splats floating in the air.

not like i'm getting this one, i dislike the ninja gaiden series, i bought sigma and i found it so boring/lame.

I see this game taking a big nose dive. Your already limiting yourself by just a PS3 title but now your taking out what most people buy the game for good look with that. I haven't been to bsuiness school but i know this will be bad for business.

It's been awhile since I played through Ninja Gaiden 2, but both of the times I did, I experienced a lot of glitches. I remember the game slowing down to stop whenever you fight all these ninjas on some stairs. I remember the game slowing down when you fight those bone creatures right before the boss fight with the guy made of bones. I remember fighting Elizabitch, and she did some sort of attack that left me stuck floating in the middle of screen helpless with Elizabitch just flat out gone. She never came back. I had to restart my game after that. That happened both times I fought her. There was another part where you in the 2nd room where you have to fight these worms and the ground is covered with acid. I remember the worms being glitched and they were stuck in place. I could keep going, but I'll stop here. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a glitchy ass game. Don't try to pretend it isn't.

Yeah, they're both pretty fasted paced, but both require skill to master. Like Al said, they are both pretty similar.

I would say both games are similar. The combat in Ninja Gaiden is just as deep and satisfying as Devil May Cry.
