In a recent interview with the Seattle Times, Bungie’s president Harold Ryan and its creative director Joseph Staten elaborated a bit on the company’s upcoming Halo 3: ODST, and dropped a rather compelling piece of info regarding the next-next Halo installment, Halo: Reach, as it pertains to a little something called Project Natal.
While discussing Reach, Ryan said, “I absolutely think [it] could be enabled with [Natal].”
Considering that the Halo franchise has been the defining series for Microsoft and the Xbox since it began, it’s hardly surprising that Bungie would be a major player in Project Natal’s “launch” as well. It also wouldn’t be surprising if Natal is released around the same time Reach hits shelves in the fall of 2010. How Natal and Halo will work together is anyone’s guess at this point, but I can pretty much guarantee that 99 percent of players will want to use the technological marvel to deliver the most realistic face-squatting in gaming history.
On the topic of Halo 3: ODST, Staten said that in addition to the “hard-boiled” noir-ish storytelling and dialogue, ODST’s gameplay is also a bit of a departure for the Halo franchise as well.

Oh, and about Halo: Reach. I hope it is only used to beta test the first version of Natal. I hope nobody keeps their hopes too high for it because they will probably be disappointed somewhat. Great idea for sure but we donts haves the precious (technology) just yet.

I dont think Natal would be able handle anything over Xbox live yet. With the SLOW internet connections and the purpose of Natal, it just cant possibly work. I would allow gaming to develope over the next 10 years where hopefully a full body range motion sensor can recieve the action and transfer it fast enough into a game server and still let it run smoothly. Project Natal may only be successful with RPGs or some sort of story mode with certain games but aside from that, they are trying to get things on the market too soon. They must know its going to be a FAIL but i guess they are willing to spend the time and effort to put it on the market soon. Sure lots of people will buy it and Microsoft will have their money but then also they will be dealing with bad feedback for a few years.

wow "natal isn't advanced enough like a controller to play a FPS". Dumbest statement of the year award worthy right there. Please, explain every little detail of Natal. Natal is still new, so almost EVERYBODY knows nothing about it. It does things that we do not know yet. Im not saying that a FPS will work or not work, im saying, DON'T TRASH TALK WHEN YOU KNOW NOTHING OF THE TOPIC AND THE GAME ISN'T EVEN DEVELOPED YET. I remember when Zelda: ocarina of time was being released. A lot of negitivity and look how that game turned out, highest rated game in history.

I think it would be beast if you bought the game for like $60-70 and the thing came with an assault or battle rifle as well as the game in the box. Then shoot away. Sorta of like the wii or duck hunt, but with a bigger gun and teabagging.

How are you going to play a fps without a controller, I highly doubt that natal is advanced enough to produce a game like halo unless it is all mini games or something.

oh god, natal is going to suck garenteed it's 1st couple games so please don't ruin halo and stick to arcade games. I love playing halo the old fasion way... with a controller, and i really don't want to run around the room pretending to shoot at grunts. if i wanted to play a crappy 1st person shooter with motion control i would go buy medal of honor for the wii. Natal, stay out of my shooters!
