Today's Amazon's Game Deal of the Day is ridiculous today: Full Guitar Hero World Tour bundle, with drums, guitars, mic and game, for only $89.98. That's fully $100 off the list price.
The deal is available for the Wii, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and 360, but I imagine it will sell out quick. So get over there and get it. Given the sheer number of Guitar Hero games planned for the next couple of years, you're going to need some fake plastic instruments, quick!
I'm not sure how Amazon chooses which items to discount, but if it comes from the manufacturer, it seems to indicate pretty strongly that Activision is interested in consumers having the instruments so they will be more likely to buy upcoming games, and if it comes from Amazon, it seems to indicated that the company is tired of all that stock littering its warehouse, kind of like I'm tired of those plastic instruments littering my living room!
If you're a Guitar Hero hold-out, is this deal enough to convince you to pick up the instruments?

As the most talented musician here, and an owner of GH:WT, Metallica, and Rock band 1 & 2, I can officially say that everyone with their comments about fake plastic instruments are just jealous they can't play real OR fake.

I'm just not as enthusiastic about Guitar Hero as I was when it came out: Stashing my guitar controllers in my backpack and bringing them to school so my buds an I could play during lunch. haha.
I have The Beatles: Rock Band bundle preordered, which is one reason I won't be buying World Tour. I'll probably get all of the instruments too, that way when I get bored of the game, I can hang up the instruments on my wall in a future music/gaming room.
I would just buy this bundle and sell it for more, but I just don't have enough reason too.

If I was so concerned about playing a guitar, I would just learn to play a real one. But since I don't plan to, Rockband is ideal since I just want to play around and have fun.

No thanks. I bought 2 brand new controllers for Gh3, the wired and wireless guitar, and they both didn't work. The wired one didn't work the same day I bought it, and the wireless one's green button became unresponsive. Plus why buy the same game over and over just to get new songs? I'm waiting for Rockband to come just a little lower thank you very much.

Game stop had a similiar online only sale a couple weeks ago on some GH games that had damaged boxes. that stuff sold out quickly. I think I just might pull the trigger.

damn, i just missed it. i just checked and the ps3 version is sold out. plenty of xbox, wii, and ps2 left. maybe because owners are tweens without credit cards and the ability to shop online for the best deals. oh well, they can go get this deal at best buy or gamestop, right?
