It seems like everyone's talking about Red Faction: Guerrilla, Volition's open-world, destruction-heavy action game. Buzz doesn't always translate into sales, but THQ CEO Brian Farrell, speaking to me this morning the company's recent internal restructuring (look for more soon), said the company's happy with what the company's tracking so far.
"The buzz is great," said Farrell. "We've been pleased with the initial results -- obviously, it's only been a couple of weeks, but what we've seen in the marketplace, both here and in Europe and Asia, we've been very pleased so far. I've been in this business game long enough to know that an 85-rated game [according to Metacritic] will have pretty long legs."
It's a few weeks until we know how Red Faction: Guerrilla performed in its first month at retail, but Farrell's right; it has the entire summer to keep generating new fans. Look for more with Farrell soon.
