Fight Night Round 4

As game systems get more complicated, errors become more mysterious. Back in the day, it was almost always dust on the connectors, so when Super Mario Brothers 2 didn't work, you'd blow on the cartridge, jam it back in your NES and bam, Luigi floats.  But nowadays, it ain't that simple. Electronic Arts is having a hell of time figuring out why Fight Night Round 4 is freezing up on some Xbox 360s.

According to EA, the freeze-up is happening to a "very small number" of users of both the demo and retail versions of the game. But EA has been unable to duplicate the problem, and thus solve it. According to EA, "unfortunately we can’t recreate the freeze issue on any of our hundreds of kits."

That doesn't mean there are no clues. According to EA, "The demo freeze that we investigated seemed to be hardware related, nothing within the game code could be seen to cause the problem," and "The problem seems to lie somewhere between audio data and online configurations." See what I mean about mysterious?

Users experiencing the problem should probably check out this official thread, and add their specs and issues. The more info EA gets, the faster it'll be able to knock this bug down to the canvas for a ten-count.

Fight Night Round 4 worked fine for me, but I only played it for like ten minutes so far. How about you? Have you had problems with Fight Night Round 4? Let us know in the comment section.

    @Adrenalyn915

    A lot of PS3 owners use the Wi-Fi adapter to jack up the cost of the 360 because that's something included with the PS3 when the truth is it's not needed by everyone, true lots of people need it however lots of people don't that would be like every 360 owner inflating the cost of the PS3 by saying well it doesn't come with a head set so that's an extra $20-$60 for a Bluetooth headset plus an extra $100 for a PS2 since the newer PS3's totally lack any PS2 compatibility.

    @ rellimps

    The cost of a Wi-Fi adapter alone jacks up the price of the XBox 360 Pro to $400, then add on XBL for a year or two, and you're up to $450+.

    @ Raverenz51

    Please, stop using PlayStation Home as an excuse. Yes, PlayStation Home had its fair share of problems ... that took a total of only 6 hours to fix! And ... IT'S FREE!

    @ all of the Sony fanboys

    Don't stoop to the level of the XBots, leave them alone, both systems have problems (granted, XBox has more), but this is one game, with a tiny problem.

    it would be nice to read a post that actually had info pertaining to the question. 99% of these post are just irrelevant and a waste of space and time.

    Yes it happens to me on both the demo and my retail copy of the game. I can get around it by unplugging the network cable starting the game and once past the first title screen I plug cable back in reconnect to live and good to go. The demo did this for 2 or 3 days and then I was able to just play it like normal. I have had the retail for only 3 days and so far I still have to unplug to get it started.

    I hope you 360 owners aren't surprised. What the hell did you expect? It's EA. Their Quality Assurance team doesn't ACTUALLY assure quality.
