The one game that took everyone by surprise at E3 2009 was a little Nintendo DS title called Scribblenauts. This little nugget of genius stood head and shoulders above an astounding amount of fantastic video games, so you know that there has to be something very special about this incredibly simple and yet infinitely complex game.

Such is the topic of this week's Soapbox. Adam talks about how he not only can't wait to play the game, but how he thinks  Scribblenauts stands as an example of how amazing games have gotten in recent years. Are you as excited for this game as The Sess? Hell, I might buy a DS just so I can play it. Enjoy.

    This looks like a game that will be a lot of fun. I can't even begin to imagine the possibilities of what you can write and then use in the game.

    Aw, Sess had me until he mentioned David Lynch. Worst director ever. Self-indulgent, pretentious nonsense. But I do think Scribblenauts looks like a lot of fun.

    @CDAT1AD

    And to add to what westpusher just said, if your going to state numbers please make sure they are correct. To say that 70% of the country is conservative is one of the most ignorant things I have heard in a while. How can the president have a 63% approval rating if 70% of the nation is conservative....lol

    Here is some truth for you... 30% of the nation is stout Republican and will vote conservative no matter what. 30% of the nation is stout Democrat and will vote liberal no matter what. The remaining 40% of the nation is a little bit of both and will vote for who or what they are feeling at the time. These swing voters are the focus of every election. So please educate yourself and watch more news than Fox News before you post anything.

    CDAT1AD, in attempting to "out" Adam as a liberal, you really just put your personal and political beliefs on the table. making snarky comments about someone being liberal is beyond cliche' and just paints you as another ignorant, intolerant and honestly anti-american nutjob like Ann Coulter.

    This particular bit is called "sessler's soapbox" because he gets to say what he wants, if you don't like it then you should shut up and stop watching it. not that anyone should really need that pointed out for them.

    Scribblenauts prove the theory that if you put -nauts at the end of your game title you sure to have somethin epic in the lines of games such as Policenauts and Psychonauts.

    stop being close minded . the funnest games you'll every play usually are the games you dont like till you play . so I say play before you say anything bad about a game you never played .

    whoa, what happened to the ignorant comment about politics that was here one second and then magically vanished? Anyways, this game looks pretty damn cool, but too bad i dont own a DS. And yeah 3D is nice and all, but you can't tell me Super Mario Bros. isn't one of the most fun games of all time.

    They're doing so many unique and interesting things with the DS. I wonder when people are going to start to pick up the pace with the Wii.

    Adam shutting the hell up about his political bias ( liberal what a surprise ) would make me happy. Hey Adam, STFU about your beliefs in the real world, talk about the games not what you think. I am sick of your biased bull. Now do your job, and get off the political soapbox, but sine I know you wont, heres a stat for you. Over 70% of America does NOT share your political beliefs

    Cthulhu..yep I couldn't get it right on the first try, left out that second h. CTHULHU .
    Scribblenauts definately a great concept, here's hoping the actual game lives up to the hype that you guys (you guys being the blanket "game media") are building up for it.
    Drawn to Life for example: the idea was very cool, but under all the drawin' not much except a simple platform game with crappy controls.
