The Dark Knight actor Christian Bale has been a popular choice among gamers to take on the role of Solid Snake in a film adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid series, but there's some bad news. The grizzled actor told MTV Multiplayer he hasn't been approached about a Metal Gear Solid movie, but admits he is a fan of the games.
Has Bale been approached about Metal Gear Solid? "No," he said.
But does he play video games? "Yes," he said.
Okay, what games does he play? "That," he said.
By that, of course, Bale means Metal Gear Solid. Apparently, he's also a massive fan of short answers. For gamers looking forward to a Bale-Kojima teamup, however, they'll have to keep wishing.

Kurt Russel wouldn't make a very good snake, Escape From New York wasn't that good first off. But he could do an ok Big Boss. Why not just do a mix of live-action and CGI? Like Hulk, do a CG Snake and have David Hayter do the voice? And get Paul Eiding to do Campbell's voice.

Why would they make a metal gear movie in the first place? I always thought the games incorporated so many cut scenes because it was trying to fuse cinema and games into one. I feel that a movie would miss the point of metal gear. And the plot would be unbelievably stupid,

Personally, I think Hugh Jackmen seemed to fit the role more, but Christian Bale is still okay.

Why do we need a Metal Gear Solid movie now? I'm of the opinion that movies should only be made from old tv shows, cartoons, and video games once they've reached a certain nostalgic level. Only then can it ultimately be "re-imagined" for the big screen.
If you ask me, MGS the game is awready as big as a movie. Why does it need one? If anything, MAYBE they could use a cartoon series, a CG movie (a la FF7:AC), or MAAAYYYbe a tv series. No movies for at least 15 years after the final installment of the game.
