For anyone who totally dug the four-player co-op story mode in Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War, then you're probably a little bummed that Infinity Ward's sure-to-be-massive Modern Warfare 2 doesn't feature a similar story-based co-op mode. However, IW is hoping to alleviate some of that frustration with its Special Ops mode, a new two-player co-op mode that takes various scenarios from the story mode and reworks them for maximum co-op insanity.
As Videogamer.com reports, the reason IW decided to splinter off its two-player co-op is they didn't want to ruin their finely crafted and precisely paced story by "cramming co-op into it," and as a result, "two player seemed to be the magic number for co-op," says IWs community manager Robert Bowling.
Special Ops mode sounds ridiculously fun, and it will undoubtedly provide some outrageously satisfying and intense gameplay, on top of all the madness that the story mode and multiplayer will bring. Why must November 10 not be tomorrow?! Damn you space-time continuum!
What aspect of Modern Warfare 2 are you looking forward to the most: single-player, multiplayer or co-op?
