Those talented and dedicated folks over at Bethesda Softworks are poised to release Point Lookout (June 23), the fourth DLC installment for the company’s critically acclaimed apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3. The latest adventure takes players to the swampy titular state park along the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
Now, in case you were wondering if this latest episode is worth dropping some precious coin for, rest assured. Because as Fallout 3 DLC lead producer Jeff Gardiner tells Platform Nation:
“There are lots of new creatures, items, armor, weapons and a whole new area to explore. The Point Lookout Swamp is substantive and should engross players for several hours even if they ignore the quest line. “
Gardiner also says that the main story should take between three to five hours to complete if played at a normal pace, so it's clear that this is one of the heftiest Fallout 3 DLC installments yet.
To be honest, based on what I’ve seen of the game so far, I’d be happy just wandering around Point Lookout, without any quests or objectives, pretending I was the witty co-star of Deliverance 2: Squealers Revenge (I'm still going to do this anyway, so everything else is just gravy at this point.)
Anyone out there seriously looking forward to see what happens when post-apocalyptia drifts into a backwoods town surrounded by haunting swamplands?

Would be nice since its several hours of gameplay if they raised the level cap again.

Thanks for information there, Bonerjam. I had expected the files to be bigger. I'll wait until Operation Anchorage hits and make a decision then.

@StrongestSaiyan
They are all fairly small downloads(at least on XBL) none of them thus far have even surpased 1GB(although that is alot for a 20GB Xbox hdd).

I'm just going to wait for the GOTY since between trading in my original copy and the amount of space I'll save on my hard drive it'll come out about even. Part of me wants to get in on these as soon as they hit PSN, but the amount of space they'll take up makes me think that a disc is a better way to go for me.

I'm ready. Just patiently waiting for the DLC to finally arrive on PSN.

Ignore the "once you", I apparently didn't delete all of what I was originally going to type.

I was planning on buying this as soon as I heard about it. I'll download it before I leave for work in the morning so when I get home I can jump right in.
@Socalmic47
Maybe you should have taken a little more time exploring the dlc. Op Anchorage is rather short once you but The Pitt can be a farily long play(about 5+ hours for me) if you do the story, search for the ingots and search the apartments and the power plant.

@ jake, hey when you do kill that mutant with the axe you should shout "who's squealin' now!" just to add a little atmosphere to the whole killing exprience

Not if it is as glitchy as their previous DLC, Mr. Gaskill.

Gonna get this tomorrow i wonder how hard it will be with a lvl 30 character

Several apparently means 3 hours as opposed to the 2 hours of gameplay from the other Fallout DLC.
